The following is a brief description of responsibilities to be performed by the Sr. Network Engineer.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, plan and implement enterprise-wide system solutions.
Manage and maintain systems and software.
Support server software / hardware and related applications / systems.
Design systems that proactively monitor health and performance of systems / infrastructure.
Implement tools to provide analytic trend analysis, capacity planning and performance data.
Assist in standardized design of new and existing processes and policies.
Document existing systems architecture and technology portfolio.
Research and recommend emerging technologies to increase cost effectiveness, system ability and future expandability.
Act as a liaison between IT management and remote sites/ technicians.
Design, configure and deploy networking facilities throughout the company.
Document business needs as they relate to IT technology.
Understand current and emerging technology. Identify solutions to meet business needs.
Develop IT Infrastructure standards for various operational areas.
Assist in the day-to-day network operation, analysis and troubleshooting.
Monitor local and wide area network health / capacity limits.
Assist with design and implementation of new and existing sites.
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
Provide telephony administrative support and maintenance.
Securely configure, monitor and maintain VPNs for remote sites and remote workforce.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
5+ years experience with administering Cisco networking technologies or Enterprise Server Environments, including: Cisco IP Telephony, Cisco, UCS, Cisco EIGRP - Cisco certification preferred.
Experience with VMware, VEEAM, NAC (Forescout), Next Gen Anti-Virus (Cylance) and Meraki highly preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux technologies, networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP and remote communications.
Experience with virtualization techniques, backup methods, database system management functions and SAN based storage solutions a must.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree preferred.
High School Diploma required.
Proficient in use of Excel, MS Word, and other MS Office software.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communication ability
Proficient in English
