The Sr. Network Engineer will play a key role in global network operations including design, support, implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation. Focus will be on supporting day to day network operations, systems and network capacity, redundancy, high availability, implementation of network best practices and technologies while maintaining performance for critical applications. The position will work as part of a team, coordinating closely with the Information Security team and local IT team. Additionally, the Sr. Network Engineer will serve as a technical advisor for other projects and networks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design and oversee implementation and maintenance of a highly available, multi-use, LAN and WAN infrastructure utilizing fiber optics, copper, wireless, and leased-line services.
Manage and monitor network performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, reliability, security and cost-effectiveness in alignment with the organization requirements and goals
Own and drive network standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Disaster Recovery (DR) documentation, network diagrams, device, and license inventory.
Administration of routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, and system monitoring tools.
Maintain network policies and have knowledge of current security best practices and tools for a highly secure and available production environment.
Validates overall network health, performance, availability, security, redundancy, and business continuity.
Develop solutions to automate and improve network reliability and efficiency
Serve as a technical expert, driving change to adopt new standards, maintaining reliability and improving performance metrics
Provides Tier 3 support for the Enterprise network; including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi, monitoring, and reporting applications
Work with telecom providers to manage existing telecommunication circuits, troubleshoot outages, and install service upgrades.
Participate in change management process including development of change management plan for production upgrades.
