  • The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for developing the design, configuration, enhancement, and troubleshooting of EPB's data, video, and voice network and equipment. The position includes leading teams that develop and test new products, troubleshooting complex network issues, maintaining the health and security of EPB's fiber services network and associated systems, and resolving highly complex issues escalated from other Network Engineers.


  • Develops and leads projects with technical staff in the implementation, installation, configuration, and technical support of network architecture.

  • Develops and maintains system documentation, including diagrams, standard operating procedures and work instructions including providing analysis on current and projected workloads as basis for long-range capacity planning.

  • Sustain carrier class consistency, predictability and stability of all network devices and services supported by EPB.

  • Leads teams that design, implement, and manage EPB's residential and commercial broadband services.

  • Directs and performs all necessary audits and maintenance activity to ensure service levels are sustained, and that systems are optimized and not compromised.

  • Perform after hours support duties to sustain networking systems and service levels 24/7/365.

  • Leads projects for other engineers in Telecom, Systems, Video, etc.

  • Provides technical assistance to customers, field services, and other engineers over the phone and/or onsite meetings.

  • Provides technical expertise to the Sales department, Field Services, and Network Operations.

  • Coordinates projects with other departments and external organizations.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field is preferred or an equivalent 8-10 years of experience in Networking is preferred.

  • Industry certifications related to Networking is highly desired.

Must have experience with:

  • VLANs

  • Routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS

  • Packet capture and analysis using Wireshark or similar tools

  • Firewalls

  • Experience with Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia 750 is a plus.

  • Experience with Juniper is a plus.

  • Experience with VoIP is a plus.

  • Experience with multicast IP video is a plus.

  • Must have detail-oriented skills used to manage complex systems; excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, and time management skills.


Fast paced and heavy workload to be expected and must continually meet deadlines. After hours and weekends will be needed for emergency situations; also maintenance activities and on-call will be needed. Will require sitting, typing, communicating, walking, and long hours.

Works collaboratively with physicians, staff and other health care professionals within his/her clinically integrated network (CIN) MHCN to provide care coordination across the health care continuum for members within the CIN/MHCN. Is an integral member of the health care team as well as the CIN/MHCN department who guides patients and caregivers in addressing critical issues of care and disease self-management in the month following hospital discharge. Collaborate with the CIN/MHCN population Health Care. Management team on system-wide quality improvement/performance improvement initiatives. Job Requirements * Current unrestricted license by the State of TN as a licensed practical nurse. * Five years of clinical and case management as a licensed practical nurse. * Hospital case management/discharge planning experience preferred * Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid populations, related Social/economic issues preferred. * Experience in patient education preferred * Must have strong organizational (time management) skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle priorities * Knowledge of and practical use of good business English, spelling, arithmetic, practices and the ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal skills. Proficient in email communications and internet usage along with basic Knowledge of information technology to evaluate care effectiveness (care process, outcomes and cost) * Certification as Healthcare Coach or obtained within two years of hire. * Certification in case management (CCM), public health and/or community health preferred * Basic Life Support(BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained by the end of the orientation period (approx. 6 weeks) * Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire. * Ability to work autonomously within matrix environment without direct supervision or support. * Demonstrates a wide theory base and sound clinical skills to function as a nurse generalist.
