Overview

The Transport Engineering Solutions organization is dedicated to improving the transport optical network. In this position you will provide sustained engineering for the transport network engineering teams and support the Transport Network Operations Repair team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Configure transport network services from the ground up on Windstream network elements without assistance

  • 5 experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, Transport Services in a Transport NOC/Provisioning environment.

  • Conceptual understanding of 8032/31

  • Packet Optical provisioning/maintenance experience

  • Advanced knowledge of IP addressing/subnetting; Ethernet

  • In depth understanding of DWDM transport network services.

  • Industry Certifications relevant to Telecommunications (specifically Infinera, Cisco, Ciena, Tellabs, Fuji)

  • Advanced understanding of OTN technology

  • MEF certified or within 6 mos of hire.

  • Ability to perform daily tasks with a variety of computer applications, including MS Office applications (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, etc).

  • Self-motivated, team player.

  • Ability to work independently. Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

  • Good analytical skills

  • Ability to prioritize projects

  • Ability to stay current with the technological developments in the telecommunications industry.

  • Strong communication i.e. clear confident verbal and grammatically correct written communication, ability to effectively host conference calls with multiple internal & external stakeholders.

  • Experience with the following equipment is preferred (3-5) years experience with at least 3 of the below)

  • Ciena

  • Transmode

  • Ability to effectively isolate issues on the Transport network and redesign on an as needed basis during outages.

  • DWDM deployment experience

  • Ability to effectively direct field technicians and other personnel during troubleshooting and maintenance activities.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Engage engineering and operations teams within Windstream on a peer to peer basis and work issues to resolution

  • Support for the Transport Network Operations team from a troubleshooting and engineering s standpoint

  • Ability to run projects to completion.

  • Awareness for network changes. Work closely with Transport Operations to specifically address the technical challenges encountered within the Optical network

  • Customer interaction will be required at times.

  • Create method of procedures and implement maintenance activities when needed

  • Develop new and better methods to deliver our products with maximum efficiency and reliability.

  • Work directly with vendors for development

  • Work with Vendors in regards to troubleshooting issues that arise on the network

  • Provide "Tier 3" Support and training to members of the Transport Network Operations team.

Education & Experience:

College degree in Networking or related field and 3-4 years professional level experience in transport telecom; or 4 years of professional level related Transport networking; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Transport experience required.

VIEW JOBS 12/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-10T00:00 Responsible for the efficient and effective collection of plasma by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 1 In compliance with SOPs perform all aspects of the pheresis procedure and plasma collection, including donor set-up, donor monitoring and donor disconnect. 2 In compliance with SOPs and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines, performs venipuncture on donors to begin pheresis process. 3 Evaluates vein performance of the donor to identify possible problems; makes necessary corrections in order to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety. Ensures donation process is efficient and makes adjustments when necessary to make the process a positive experience for the donor. 4 May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma. Explains the screening process, the health screening tests performed, the appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition and any other information pertinent to the donor. Ensures that all donor questions are answered timely, accurately and professionally. 5 Maintains alertness to any reaction by donors and assists with reactions or notifies appropriate staff. 6 Uses Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events. 7 Required to perform calibrations and verify that maintenance has been performed as outlined in the SOPs. Required to respond to and resolve complex equipment alarms or donor issues. 8 Troubleshoots equipment failures. Creates incident documentation, removes and/or replaces equipment from service. 9 Monitors donor flow on the donor floor to assure continuous turnover. Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues. 10 May provide guidance and technical training about processes and procedures to donor floor staff and other staff as required. 11 Collects arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing. 12 Ensures the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 13 Understands the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable. 14 Maintains clean efficient work environment, and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Promotes safety in all actions. May conduct routine audits of these internal procedures and documentation. 15 Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information. 16 May be cross-trained in other areas to meet the needs of the business. 17 Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business. 18 Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
