Objective: The Sr. Network Administrator role is responsible for directing daily administration of a network/firewall environment. Installs, configures, and maintains system software and firmware. Monitors network performance and manages future capacity needs, troubleshoots the more complex issues and designs solutions to be implemented. Responsible for project planning upgrades and installation of new applications and equipment. Manages patches to address identified vulnerabilities. Creates and maintains a disaster recovery, security and backup and restore plan and policy. Leads the evaluation of new technologies and performs analysis/feasibility studies to guide decisions on the best way to optimize network efficiency and performance. Manages ticket queues, incidents, and change management adherence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design the network environment, with guidance from IT Management. Evaluates and install patches and resolve software or security related issues.
Plans the implementation and supports maintenance of the core network infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, switches, Ethernet Internet connections, Voice and VPNs)
Designs the implementation and supports maintenance of security and availability monitoring solutions for both systems and network infrastructure. Provides reporting to the IT Management on network statistics, and performance.
Manage Hyper-V and VMware environments
Setup and Manage Veaam backup environment
Manage and maintain exchange/O365 environment
Ensures maintenance and implementation of network disaster recovery architecture and operations to support the systems and applications teams.
Troubleshoots and resolves multiple complex network service devices; network security devices; and telecommunications services that require escalation from tier 2 network support; recommends solutions to mitigate future issues.
Stays current on the latest industry technologies, trends and strategies and recommends solutions for future designs.
Supports the design and review of new server systems and application deployments in both workstations and servers. Recommend modifications to Server systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Coordinates with systems engineering, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of network to meet corporate objectives.
Supports application development teams throughout project lifecycles and provide recommendations for enhancements.

A minimum of 7 years network management, design, and implementation is required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited college/university is required; 5 additional years of experience in Network Engineering disciplines may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
CCNP Routing and Switching certificate (preferred) or comparable knowledge
CCDA/CCDP, CCNA/CCNP Security, CCNA/CCNP Wireless certificates or equivalent knowledge (preferred).
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/ or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
