Our Airline client purchased a customer funds management tool from a vendor, looking for a long term solution for that in the next couple years, need a Sr. .Net developer to handle responsibilities. This tool covers anything with gift cards and travel funds, like refunding tickets. Also vouchers, another form of travel funds. One of the key needs, the vendor is going to come in and do deep dive sessions, so these resources will be participating in that, understanding the code based, working with tech leads and team leads to do general maintenance, getting all their needs taken care of

  • Technologies used: .Net, C#, VB6, looks like some ActiveX components as well. Looking for proficiency in component 1, active X tool apparently, SQL server experience, it is all SQL server based, we use a tool that SDK interfaces with

Questions:
-So for the sr. developer vs. jr. is there a split? I think it will really be determined once we get into the complexity, for the Sr. more mentoring and involved in problem solving. The Jr. will do more reporting work, code opportunities for both. We will have to split it based on the complexity. First couple months, both roles will have a deep dive, understand the functionality, so they need to be involved from a coding perspective. Both of them will be pretty involved in new features.

CyberArc? Not a hard requirement, but definitely a nice to have

  • How big is the development team? In addition to these 2, there will be a tech lead working to understand the need and architecture, but really no other development

  • VB6 ? That is the required skill, if we need to make changes we will need to get that skill. Lot of the semantics haven't changed, so understanding visual basic is a must.

Analyze, design, write program code, test, document, and implement functionally appropriately, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems in accordance with Customer requirements, and organizational methodologies and standards. Respond to production problems and implement immediate resolution efforts across technology areas.

Project Management:

Support the organizations project management policy, practice, and methodology.

Provide timely and accurate progress information to project status reports.
Problem Solving:

Analyze and resolve problems of simple to medium complexity.

Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution.

Employ productivity aids in all aspects of assignments.
Systems Development Engineering:

Analyze and design programs for simple to medium complexity business problems according to user specifications and assist in developing detail program specifications.

Comply with project management methodology requirements as appropriate.
Testing / Deliverable Quality:

Participate in system and acceptance testing.

Test and implement system components using techniques that preserve system integrity.
Production Support:

Responsible for immediate response to production program problems.
Financial Accountability:

Participate in fiscal management and cost estimate development.

& Requirements

Education: BS / BA, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, and / or equivalent formal training or work experience.
Experience:

Experience in Information Technology or business environment.
Maturity:

Learning; participates and assists.

Completes tasks under direction.


Tasks are assigned and consequences of error carry small risk to the organization.

Basic knowledge of software development, practice, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and / or work experience.
