POSITION OVERVIEW

The Analytics and Customer Engagement business unit within Global Payments is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to deliver high quality consumer-facing Mobile and Progressive Web Applications built in Flutter. These consumer-facing applications are part of a suite of products within a SaaS platform that provides Gift Cards, Loyalty Programs, and a variety of other Stored Value and Customer Engagement solutions across multiple industry verticals and customer segments.

We are looking for a talented engineer primarily focused on building amazing user experiences that delight end users. You will build compelling user interfaces around a host of APIs that scale well both for mobile native and progress web. Top candidates will have a strong understanding of software design patterns and building software with utmost concern for quality, readability, performance, and scalability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leverage broad and deep understanding of technologies and Global's business processes to provide recommendations and execute software development.

  • Partner with architects to implement high-performance mobile applications

  • Research and summarize adjacent technology trends to provide guidance

  • Mentor the team on the "how" of better use of existing platform components and performance best practices

  • Highly collaborative, a fast learner and willing to work wherever you're needed on the team.

  • Demonstrated experience with software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms.

  • Able to effectively communicate technical issues in a manner all can understand.

  • Able to work with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to prioritize work relative to both delivering business value and addressing technical debt.

  • Leads system analysis, design, development, and implementation for our existing mobile native applications.

  • Translates stories into design & code. Develops well-engineered code and test artifacts backed by automated tests

  • Research and employs contemporary software development techniques to ensure quality and improve velocity of the team

  • Elevates code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provides follow up Production support. Submits change control requests and documents.

  • Leads in design, code, and test inspections throughout life cycle to identify issues.

  • Participates in other meetings, such as those for use case creation.

  • Contributes to develop and maintain an inclusive and highly-collaborative environment for the team

  • Stay current with relevant software technologies and best practices.

  • Writing application documentation

  • Maintaining high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits

  • Analyzing and resolving technical and application problems

MUST HAVES

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Experience as a Flutter developer or a mobile expert who can ramp up on Flutter and demonstrate that ramp ability in an interview

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience analyzing business problems and translating business requirements into mobile application solutions considering such factors as system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and total cost of ownership.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing native mobile iOS applications using Swift or Objective-C, and Xcode languages and toolsets.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience architecting, designing, maintaining and developing large commerce enterprise applications.

  • Knowledge of Google's Material design framework

  • Experience in publishing apps on the App Store and/or Google Play Store

  • Good knowledge of design patterns

  • Strong knowledge of GIT, ability to troubleshoot and resolve branching and commit issues

  • In-depth knowledge of application security and best practices

  • Advanced troubleshooting & debugging skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a variety of co-workers

  • Ability to manage your workload with minimal supervision

  • Deeply curious, hard-working, and kind

  • Ability to consistently work 40 hours per week.

PREFERRED

  • Experience working with AWS or GCP

  • Experience in Firebase

  • Experience with automated testing

  • Experience with SQL databases and queries

  • Experience with React mobile or Ionic or Cordova or similar cross platform

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Work as part of a small team, which will include other developers, a project manager, a QA ,BA, and a designer.

  • Complete two-week sprints and participate in sprint retrospectives and daily standups

  • Assist with building estimates

  • Interface with teams via Slack, Zoom/Meet, and email

  • Work with modern tools including Jira, Slack, Bitbucket, Google Docs, etc

  • Follow FullStack's detailed development process
