We are searching for a Senior Manager, Systems Engineering to join the MariPro engineering team in Goleta, CA.

Job Description:

  • The Senior Manager, Systems Engineer will be involved with interdepartmental engineering projects, involving cabled ocean acoustic data acquisition systems, while working closely with the engineering design group, this position provides the top level technical support for projects from forward-looking planning, through proposal preparation, customer interactions, and project technical direction.

  • The candidate will lead a team of 10 systems engineers, scientists, and fellows; drives SE best practices such as robust architecture reviews, understanding mission needs & influencing customer requirements, early specification development, performance analysis & allocation to subsystems, coaching hardware and sub-systems engineers.

  • This position provides leadership across multiple prime USG contracts; driving integration of work across sites and divisions; chairing engineering technical reviews; risk management; ensuring successful supplier management thru effective SOWs and Specifications; training & development of a future systems workforce.

  • Perform operational analysis and develop concept of operations, design and implementation plans

  • Analyze systems requirements from end systems and users

  • Supports development and evaluation of complex system designs and architectures

  • Support the design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on airborne and ground-based ISR platforms

  • Provide technical oversight and review support to development groups during product design and development.

  • Work with management to develop and adhere to schedules and budgets required to accomplish assigned work

  • Develop and deliver presentations to communicate design activity plans and status to internal and external customers

  • The Senior Manager Systems Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering, based out of Goleta, CA.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (e.g. Electrical, Computer, Software, or Mechanical), and a minimum of twelve (12) years of prior related experience or at a Master's degree and ten (10) years of prior related experience.

Experience:

  • Experience with system engineering standards such as EIA 632 or ISO/IEC 15288 or equivalent

  • Experience with high-level technical project cost estimation in support of ongoing and emergent programs

  • Experience with analysis tools (MATLAB, Autodesk, ANSYS).

  • Experience leading large and diverse teams of highly skilled individual contributors

  • Preferred experience with defense programs, government contracting, technical development & management in classified environments, and earned value management.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid state driver's license.

  • Active Security Clearance preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires technical knowledge in design of real time electro-mechanical-optical data acquisition systems

  • Ability to allocate customer requirements to hardware and software components.

  • Contribute to the architecture and design of embedded software systems

  • Strong analytic and communication skills.

  • Requires the ability to interpret and communicate engineering plans and specifications. Sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria.

  • Excellent computer skills; ability to comprehend new hardware / software applications.

  • Ability to write a concise report of findings.

  • Effective human relation skills are essential.

  • Ability to speak read and write the English language.

Physical Demands:

  • Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

  • Employee regularly sits while using upper body movements including arms, hands and fingers operating computer equipment and other office equipment.

  • Employee occasionally stands and/or walks to go into meetings or for discussions with other administrative / office personnel.

  • Employee occasionally reaches with hands and arms in moving tools, equipment and/or products as needed.

Other Work Conditions and Requirements:
  • Employee works in a quiet to moderately noisy environment.

  • 10% travel may be required for several days, occasionally on short notice via auto/air/rail.

  • Support for at-sea testing aboard ship may be required from time to time, including overnight

VIEW JOBS 8/7/2020 9:23:30 PM 2020-11-05T21:23 <div id=":26a"> <div id=":2ms"> <div link="#0563C1" vlink="#954F72"> <div>We are seeking an <strong>Engineering Manager </strong>to lead a highly motivated team of <strong>RF / Microwave Engineers</strong> in the EW RF Subsystem Design and Development section within the Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems SPS/IEWS Hardware Department.  The section specializes in the design, integration, verification, and production of RF / Microwave subsystems for airborne platforms.  The candidate will oversee the RF engineering discipline supporting a variety of programs in Goleta.  Key interfaces will be with other sections across the Department, other Engineering disciplines, as well as internal customers leading the supporting programs. This position will be located in <strong>Goleta, CA.</strong><br />  <br /> The Section Manager (SM) is a key technical contributor to the programs and products supported by the section and in addition, performs direct line management activities for approximately 12 – 15 engineers. These SM activities include career and performance development, mentoring, training, tool and process development, resource allocation, and championing the use of established procedures, processes and instructions. The SM serves as a liaison to the programs, ensuring program success along technical, cost and schedule parameters, as well as overseeing section member job assignments, performance, and recognition.<br />  <br /> Responsibilities include coordinating program staffing needs and optimizing staffing across skills and experience to meet demand for multiple programs.  The SM will be accountable for requirements flow to specification, robust engineering work products, and peer reviewed documented engineering trades for all section members.  In addition, the SM will team with the Department Manager in the execution of the Center and RSI Engineering goals, and will be expected to actively participate in Department and Center level meetings.   The SM, like his section members, should have demonstrable expertise in <strong>Subsystems Electrical Engineering</strong>, including design development and leadership experience.   The SM will engage regularly with program office personnel in producing cost and technical proposals, with IPTLs in producing EACs, and will facilitate department/center level approvals.  The SM will also be responsible for developing and maintaining technical roadmaps and leadership of those in his/her section.<br />  <br /> The candidate must have an outstanding ability to provide technical guidance and act as a mentor to their staff.  The candidate must be adept at making technical presentations and at establishing customer relationships.  The candidate shall be a highly motivated “self-starter” able to lead by example, possessing strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and maintain positive relationships and satisfaction with functional and program leadership.<br /> <br /> <strong>Required Skills:</strong> <br />   <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Minimum of 12 years of Electrical Engineering RF / Microwave Design, Development and Implementation of Defense-related Electronic Systems</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Broad based RF / Microwave engineering experience, spanning design, production and support phases of DoD programs.
