Job Location: Hershey, PA
Provide global oversight and guidance on US GAAP reporting, management reporting, policy alignment & compliance, internal controls and operational processes related to the Supply Chain areas (manufacturing & logistics). Coordinate SOX, monthly close and quarterly disclosure requirements for the Supply Chain. Lead/support special projects for the Supply Chain including due diligence, M&A integration and systems/process implementations.
This position has dotted line reporting to the Sr Dir Finance, Supply Chain. The Plant Controllers will have dotted line reporting to this position for accounting and control issues.
1.Accounting & Monthly Close
Monitor the monthly close process and results for Supply Chain areas across the regions to ensure good accounting practices are being followed and that issues are anticipated and reflected as required in financial reporting
Coordinate with Country Controllers on monthly close accounting issues that impact the Country and Legal Entity P&Ls
2.Internal Controls & Compliance
Update and develop Supply Chain policies and procedures in alignment with corporate policies, local regulations and sound operating proceedures
Assist in the implementation of controls for Supply Chain areas as required by changes in business processes, audit reviews or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
Coordinate the SOX process for the Supply Chain, including documentation, testing & compliance; assistance on review of testing results will be provided by the Region Supply Chain Finance and/or the local Country Controller teams
Coordinate the quarterly disclosure governance process for the Supply Chain (rep letters & disclosure meetings)
Develop an active and relevant monitoring process to ensure compliance to US GAAP and management reporting processes at all Supply Chain facilities
Provide support for all Supply Chain internal audits and oversee the follow-up process to ensure all recommendations are mediated on a timely basis
3.Ad-Hoc Accounting/Reporting Support
Based on variance and other analyses, coordinate and lead research process to resolve issues, and develop and execute remediation plans as needed
Lead/support updates to accounting, reporting & control processes for the Supply Chain based on business, accounting or tax changes
Provide support to the Supply Chain teams in the Countries as needed to address issues that impact accounting and financial reporting
Coordinate with Country Controllers to keep them informed on Supply Chain processes that impact the Country and Legal Entity P&Ls
Work with the Plant Controllers and Country Controllers to develop/improve processes that provide better analytics to help improve business results
Lead/support special projects for the Supply Chain including due diligence, M&A integration, restructurings, and systems/process implementations.
Provide oversight for implementation success of IT projects in the Supply Chain
The specific projects will vary based on business priorities but some current examples are Wrench integration, Golden Monkey integration, Malaysia Plant/legal entity project, India plant restructuring, etc.
Support the Corporate Controller as needed
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong managerial and leadership skills, including assertiveness
Strong organization and planning skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix management organization.
Ability to interact and communicate well with employees in foreign and offices (including JV environments)
Advanced knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting processes
Strong profiency in US GAAP reporting & management reporting needs
Good understanding of internal controls
Strong business acumen & analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to leverage business systems (SAP, BW, etc.) and tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.) to support business execution and measurement of results
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or directly related field.
CPA or other professional designation preferred
Minimum 10+ years progressive accounting & finance experience with experience in the following areas preferred:
U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Manufacturing and logistics accounting & reporting
Internal controls and SOX compliance
Shared service and IT environments
Understanding and/or direct experience with US and Canada markets
