What you will work on:

As Alexa moves into cars, the ability to search and find relevant businesses and points of interests (gas stations, airports, landmarks and local businesses like coffee-shops, malls, grocery stores) becomes paramount for Alexa's in car experience in addition to Alexa devices at home. As part of Alexa, you will be leading Local Search as a Senior Manager.

You will own the end to end solution to deliver the best customer experience to local search queries. You will be using ML based solutions, Alexa speech technologies, leveraging modern AWS services like EMR, Spark, Sageworks, ElasticSearch to solve complex problems that affect data quality and search relevance and experience to our customers. You will be working closely with business partners, product managers and engineering leaders from partner teams in Speech Recognition, Research Sciences team, Devices teams and UX team.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Development Manager with a strong technical background, industry experience in local search and solid people management skills to manage and develop a highly-talented and experienced engineering team. As the leader, you will work closely with multiple engineering and business teams to continuously identify opportunities to enable and accelerate the execution of impactful local search business initiatives.

As we are a rapidly expanding small team, you will also be required to have solid hiring and new hire development skills. Strong judgment and communication skills, long term technical vision, and continuous focus on engineering and operational excellence are essential for the success in this role.
