JOB SCOPE

Provides guidance, direction, and leadership for managing and coordinating the critical functions of network data: inventory, compliance, and implementation activities. Coordinates and supports activities that include advising, training, access, and process development to equip front-line agents and key stake holders across all NTO (network technology ops) verticals and the NOC with the knowledge and training required to develop, implement, and understand the network inventory process around Granite.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for hiring, training, development, and performance management of a team that initiates and develops inventory controls and policies, process implementation, and create and enforce naming Standards to achieve compliant network inventory information.

  • Supervises the management and coordination of circuit designs and device implementation in support of NTO verticals and the NOC to ensure deliverables and installations are met on-time within Granite (network inventory system).

  • Trains on documentation of all Transport Network, Optical Network and Network Edge designs in Granite.

  • Supervises consistent integration points across key support systems and compliance with engineering standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Supervises audits support systems to ensure data integrity.

  • Initiates conference calls on an as-needed basis with various internal and external parties to meet critical dates and work through the barriers to production.

  • Ensures required reports are timely, accurate and complete.

  • Identifies process bottlenecks and develops procedures to help streamline processes within Network Inventory.

  • Establishes business interfaces/relationships with NTO, CBO, APO-OSS, Field Services Operations, and other internal groups as necessary to ensure the timely and efficient resolution of problems.

  • Oversees the daily activities of Network Inventory and perform direct supervision of team members, including performance reviews, career development, and staffing.

  • Understands, follows, and communicates company policy to subordinates.

  • Establishes positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support.

  • Manage and coordinate circuit design and assign activities associated with Ethernet Layer 1/2/3, Wireless, and Optical based network circuits and devices/equipment.

BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors' degree in Computer Science/Engineering, IT or related field, and/or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum eight (8) years of Database Engineering experience

  • Minimum six (6) years of circuit design experience

  • Minimum six (6) years of transport and wireless network architecture and deployment experience

  • At least four (4) years of People Management experience

ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to perform and train others on technical functions in a complex, data rich environment from a management level

  • Advanced Knowledge and demonstrates the ability to train others on databases, IP networks, and configuration of it's associated elements (routers, switches, etc.)

  • Manage multiple projects at one time, prioritize and organize effectively, show judgment to make decisions and solve problems under pressure

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws

  • Ability to work with multiple functional engineering work groups

  • Strong project management discipline and ability to positively contribute to a team environment

  • Exhibit exceptional and professional communication, both written and oral

  • Able to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications

  • Working knowledge on the following Microsoft Office Applications: Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters's degree in Computer Science ,Engineering, IT or related field

  • Knowledge of industry products and services

  • Knowledge of any the following:Granite Network Inventory, Remedy, Jira/CHALK, EXPO, IP, Core, and Backbone Networking and CLONES Standards(iConectiv/Telcordia)

  • Certifications on ANY of the following: MEF: CECP, Cisco: CCNA (ICND1+ICND2 - Associate), Juniper:JNCIS-SP (Specialist), CWNP:CWSA (Certified Wireless Solutions Admin), SCTE: DEP (DOCSIS Engineering Professional), TCO:CTNS (Certified Telecom Network Specialist)
