The Commodity Manager, Seating will be responsible for strategic sourcing for a defined sub commodity(s) within Adient seating. In addition, the Commodity Manager is responsible to:
Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to commodities including: Cost Savings, economics, quality, supplier rationalization, and other agreed objectives
Lead MBBP activities in coordination with costing and engineering to drive a competitive advantage for Adient.
Develop, coordinate and steer purchasing strategies for specific commodities
Lead, motivate, support and develop purchasing staff members relating to the commodity core teams
Support of proper Make or Buy decisions
Support efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development
Leverage of purchases across all BU's
Improvement of program-profitability through continuous improvement, global sourcing, long/life-time reductions etc.
Ensuring the cost, quality and time-oriented supply of all Adient Plants with the required goods and materials in line with the respective business plans, budget, targets, and strategies.
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of procurement and automotive experience
Ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside/ outside the company and to interact with team to reach team goals and business objectives

Ability to express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people & to lead negotiations

Experience with raw materials, specifically chemical purchasing will be given preference.
