eBay's Risk Management organization is looking for a Sr. Manager of Business Rules. Reporting to the Director of Business Rules, this person will be responsible to provide a strategic perspective, show sound business judgment, build collaborative cross domain partnerships, and deliver on core business goals. The position requires a deep understanding of
analytics and how to make data driven decisions to identify, evaluate, and implement Business Rule strategies.
Create vision, strategy and plan to implement Business Rule Solutions.
Partner closely with Risk Policy, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Customer Support teams.
Drive key metrics around loss reduction, risk detection, payment risk optimization, and regulatory policy enforcement.
Provide business partners transparency into the performance of Business Rules.
Work with partners to identify opportunities and establish goals for deliverables supported by the Business Rules team. Work with Analytics partners to plan, test, and track progress against these deliverables.
Engage with Product Management and Product Development partners to identify and document Product opportunities, as well as bugs, and manage these to resolution.
Implement and manage processes to ensure high quality of Business Rules in the system and drive improvement or retirement where required.
Ensure on detailed documentation of Business Rules and processes.
Day-to-day management of Business Rules Analysts (including coaching and development). Support the team as gatekeeper for incoming requests, prioritizing those requests, and manage requestors as appropriate.
10 years of experience in Risk Management, Financial Risk, Regulatory Policy Enforcement, or similar.
8 years of experience managing direct reports, building teams and succession plans in a large organization.
Experience with a data warehouse and making data driven decisions. Able to clearly articulate success metrics, track progress and course correct as necessary, and deliver consistently against targets.
Experience with business rules development.
Strong Communication Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to influence and work effectively with others. Success depends on building rapport and credibility with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
Comfortable communicating and influencing cross-functionally, and across management levels in formal and informal settings.
The candidate will consider impact to global customers when making decisions. He or she will build and maintain strong relationships with global and remote partners.
