With deep expertise in the therapeutic area the Medical Science Liaison for our emerging market/Alzheimer's Disease enables critical customer engagement with Key Medical Experts, HCPs and other relevant customers such that they understand the clinical and scientific narrative for Biogen's therapies. The Next Generation Medical Science Liaison for our emerging market/Alzheimer's Disease enables critical customer engagement with all tiers of Key Medical Experts, HCPs and other relevant customers such that they understand the clinical and scientific narrative for Biogen's therapies.

They are trusted and credible deep medical/scientific experts that provide the most relevant, reliable and unbiased scientific information to meet the unique needs of each customer and their patients, as well as Biogen's clinical and medical strategies.

They are dynamic; always acting within compliance guardrails, they initiate interactions and are not merely passive repositories of knowledge, but seek to engage and provide the best medical and scientific information to HCPs in order to better patients' lives.

They are focused on building deep, strategic, long-term relationships with customers and are seen as partners, rather than being transactional in their interactions. They possess "medical business savvy" and customer focus while remaining non-promotional-they are able to navigate discussions to balance what is useful to customers with Biogen's medical strategy and bring back useful insights.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MSL

  • Advanced Scientific or Clinical degree is required.

  • PharmD or PhD level is desired, not mandatory

  • Experience in the respective TA is preferred

  • Ability to manage KME Panel and Tier 1 KMEs more independently and with a high level of proficiency

  • Knowledge and understanding of the disease state advanced to peer level with tier 2 KME's

  • Able to travel at least 60% of the time, including ability to travel overnight and occasionally in weekends.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older with valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Must have authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or rental.

VIEW JOBS 3/27/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-25T00:00 Almost 2M patients suffer from plaque psoriasis in the US, and while 90% of them have received a diagnosis, only ~150k of them are treated with biologic therapies. The past 5 years have registered many new biologic therapies entering the moderate-to-severe PsO landscape, bringing HCPs and patients expectations for the efficacy-safety trade off to new levels, and still highlighting unmet need for the patients suffering from this chronic, many times debilitating condition. This is a remote position. The geography covers Northern TX, Shreveport, LA and New Mexico. Preferred location for candidate to live is Dallas/Fort Worth. The MSL will serve as a liaison to the medical/scientific community and will be responsible for establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with prominent experts in the Dermatology Therapeutic Area within the geographic area of coverage. Your responsibilities: The MSL will ensure the appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, ethical and customer-focused manner. The MSL will implement medical strategies in collaboration with other Novartis colleagues for designated customers that include potential clinical trial site identification and support as well as review of investigator-initiated research protocols. The MSL will work to pair our key customer's educational and research needs with available Novartis resources and will provide the latest emerging data in response to specific healthcare professional inquiries. Comply with all credentialing requirements for any healthcare institution (e.g., hospital) which is part of the MSL call plan, including, among other things, routine background checks, medical testing (i.e., Tuberculosis test) or proof of immunizations, training on facility policies, and adherence to confidentiality and/or HIPPA agreements. What you'll bring to the role: Advanced Scientific degree or equivalent experience required. (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, OD, or DNP strongly preferred) MSL, Manager: 0-3 years' experience MSL, Associate Director: 3+ years' experience MSL, Director: 7+ years' experience Please note that the position will be filled at level commensurate with overall skill level and experience. Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required Must be science oriented and be able to prioritize and work effectively in a constantly changing environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and associated hardware Must be a strong team player and effectively interface with other internal and external stakeholders, including Corporate Customers, Regional Business Units, Marketing, Sales, New Product Commercialization, Medical Affairs, Research, and Business Analysis. A valid US Driver's License and a good driving record are required. The MSL position is associated with approximately 60%- 70% travel. Desirable Experience: Teaching experience Previous experience in the dermatology, rheumatology or immunology space or related area is strongly preferred.
