Responsible for the detail design and drafting of mechanical components and assemblies used in advanced electro-opto-mechanical applications.

Designs and develops products, components, processes, and systems using broad engineering concepts and research techniques.
Documents research and design specifications.
Solves complex and high impact design and development problems including customer application issue of varying scope and complexity.
Uses product and customer applications knowledge to determine, define, develop, and validate design concepts and methods.
May facilitate transition of product design and enhancements to full production/delivery.
May lead product definition/system design for complex features or coordinate a small group in feature development and integration.
Designs, develops, simulates, and debugs hardware products.
Specifies new product functional requirements; designs, tests, and integrates components to produce final design.
Designs, develops, executes, and evaluates validation testing and product specifications.
Works on research and development assignments with broadly defined objectives.
Interfaces with engineers, providing CAD design from product inception to released fabrication drawings.
Assists in product bill of materials (BOM) construction.
Provides support of material procurement by interfacing with suppliers/fabricators.
Provides support of existing product designs through the production cycle by incorporating engineering change orders (ECO).
Supports the company's ISO quality system by assisting in the development of quality system documentation (as required) and follow internal process to ensure proper conformance to established policies.
Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications & Education:
Education A.A. degree in drafting/design or equivalent training/experience.
Experience 8 years of design and drafting experience.
Proficient in use of Solidworks and/or Inventor 3D CAD software.
Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5.
Knowledgeable of Military Specifications/Standards.
Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Broad scope product design knowledge.
Knowledge of manufacturing methods
Must be a US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR.
