Position Summary:

Responsible for leading and directing the Manufacturing Factory in all day to day operations and in implementing and executing long term initiatives to further the organizations efficiency improvements and factory value add functions. This role will manage the factory floor, execute and maintain updates to the production schedule, manage the direct labor personnel on the floor, own the execution of the manufacturing processes controlled work instructions, safety, cleanliness (6S), and support new product introduction within the company.

Position Responsibilities:

Factory Management

Direct and supervise production and test team Supervisors and personnel in a global environment

Time and attendance management tracking & scheduling PTO, managing sick time and over time, managing shifts, managing start/stop times

Develop a Capacity Staffing model based on capacity plan for Factory

Performance management; annual reviews, goals and objectives, feedback, disciplinary issues, staffing: interview, hire, termination

Ensure compliance with all processes, procedures and protocols within the manufacturing activity

Problem resolution; process, technical, material, personal, interpersonal, cross functional

Schedule and facilitate daily production meetings to prioritize workflow in fabrication, assembly and test work cells in support of the Master Production Schedule

Coordinate shipping and receiving priorities with logistics department

Ensure all tools are calibrated per calibration schedule

Be the primary point of escalation when personnel, supply or quality issues arise

Identify material shortages in production and coordinate expediting with Purchasing and Planning departments

Resolve problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality

Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor

Support implementation and maintain 6S and Lean activities in all areas of operations

Help to define and implement standard operating procedures and workmanship standards

Train and coach employees with job duties, safety procedures and company policies

Process Management

Develop a capacity plan based on CT and forecast (labor, equipment) that will then drive a facilities plan as well as staffing plan

Maintain/Optimize training matrix and cross-training plan

Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for each operation

Drive Continual improvement program (SSQA); Quality, efficiency, cycle time, first pass yield, etc.

Position Requirements:

Bachelors Degree required with 8-12 years of related experience

Possesses in depth knowledge of process improvement tools; PFMECA, SPC, 5-Why, 8D, DFX(MFG, Test, etc.,)

Strong mechanical aptitude experience in clean room manufacturing, heavy fabrication, assembly, and test preferred

Ability to develop presentations, present to audience; group training or status to senior level managers

Working knowledge of lean-sigma principles and tools; Demand Flow Technology (DFT), VSM, flow design, kanban, cycle time, takt time, line balancing, constraint theory, kaizen, 6S, DFT, and CpK

Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Preferred)

Working knowledge of MS OFFICE Suite, MS Visio, MS Access and MS Project

Basic understand of Mechanical (GD&T) & Electrical drawings

Excellent communications skills

Manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm presence/demeanor

Possess an unwavering commitment to quality

Core Quality Tools or quality system basics trained; ISO-9001 familiarity

Responsibilities * Performs complex chemical, machining, inspection and packaging, operations in an OSHA/FDA/ISO/EH&S regulated environment requiring eye, hand, auditory and respiratory protection. Multi-tasking capabilities are essential in order to efficiently drive many varied processes simultaneously. * Advocate LEAN Initiatives (Kanban) and support LEAN concepts (5S) as they apply throughout the organization. * Monitor product flow, velocity and yields among other metrics. Monitor, record and report any unusual problems to manufacturing group leader. * Without direct supervision, work collaboratively with the other technicians in order to equitably divide daily tasks. A technician at this level should have constant concern for ultimately accommodating the needs of the customer. * Assist in the training of technicians in the use of documents, chemical/machinery process, process flow, and instruments in a safe GMP environment. * Prepared and ready to offer recommendations regarding the scheduling and flow of product based on chemical characteristics (i.e., expiry dates), mechanical constraints, shipment schedule to Isomedix, etc. * As skills allow, identify and clearly communicate ideas related to improving the manufacturing processes, documentation, workflow equipment methods, etc. Qualifications * 6 - 8 years medical device manufacturing experience with expertise in chemical, machining, inspection and packaging operations. * Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and-methodologies. * Accurate recordkeeping skills. * Good basic math skills / computer proficiency. * understanding of GMP/ISO requirements pertaining to manufacturing operations. * Prior experience with a medical device manufacturing organization preferred.
