Responsibilities

IDS ( Integrated Defense Systems) ManufacturingEngineering(MfgE)providespremierengineeringandmanufacturingsupportexpertiseto enableon-time,lowestcosthardwaredeliverywithperformance and reliabilitythatexceedcustomerexpectations.MfgEexecutesacross all phases of a programincludingproposalcapture,processdevelopment,transitiontoproduction, and productionsupport.

ManufacturingEngineering'sengagementwithIDSproductsisnotjustlimitedtoIDSmanufacturingsites.We supportourlargesuppliernetwork and internationalbuilds with deploymentofengineers.Theseengineershelptotroubleshoot and resolvesupplierissuesbeforetheycomeinto IDS factories;aswellashelping to integrate

MajorEndItems(MEIs)atdomestic and internationalsites.

JobDescription:

ManufacturingEngineersdesign,control,andimprovethemanufacturingprocessand systemdesignthrough a collaborativeeffortwith the valuestreamteam.Youwouldapplyyourskillstoreducecycletime and customerleadtime,improveproductivity,andreducematerialcost.

SpecificResponsibilitiesInclude:

  • Transducer assembly (mechanical assembly, bonding and potting) experience desired

  • Plastic welding or extrusion or molding experience desired

  • Developing undersea product line assemblies; including manufacturing processes

  • Developingtooling/die design concepts

Interfacingwithcustomersandsuppliers

  • Pro-Engineer/3D Modeling capability desired

  • Understanding of DFMA Principles

  • Planningandincorporationofdesignchanges

  • Creatingand overseeingprojectsusingriskmanagementtechniques

  • Translatingengineeringdesignrequirementsintoformalmanufacturingprocessdocumentation

  • Dispositiondiscrepanthardware

The successful candidate must be capable of solving technical problems in the area of analog, digital, mixed signal, configurable logic or power design. The desired candidate would possess multi-disciplined expertise in two or more of these areas and have the ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: * Requirements analysis and decomposition * Sub-system and circuit design * Modeling, simulation and design verification test * Providing the interface with On-Site IDS personnel, customers, and suppliers.
