This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer / Planner to support the El Segundo Assembly facility. This is both a hands-on and project management position working with operations, quality, reliability, manufacturing engineers, and program engineers in support of antenna assembly operations.
The candidate will be a member of an Integrated Product Team responsible for the process development and support assembly and inspection processes. This individual will work under general directions while determining and developing processes that meet the overall design objectives within cost and schedule constraints.
4 +years experience supporting manufacturing in electronics or other high tech manufacturing industry.
Experience with process improvements and defect reduction.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, processes, and assembly specifications.
Experience developing and supporting assembly and inspection processes
Experience with electrostatic discharge (ESD) control
Experience with data and root cause analysis, data driven process improvements, cost analysis
Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and business applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
Manufacturing equipment selection and evaluation
Proficiency with ECAD and MCAD design tools
Experience with Creo solid modeling tool and application of
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5.
Understanding of Common PDM.
Experience with design standards as well as procurement and acquisition regulations are strongly desired.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and implementation.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem solving abilities
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial).
