Position Title: Sr. Manufacturing Development Engineer

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity with our client in Menlo Park, CA.

Job Requirements:

Establish design transfer requirements and timelines
Perform in-depth process development / statistical analysis
Independently design experiments, develop protocols, perform process validations and data analysis, draw conclusions and communicate results
Design/selection Equipment for manufacturing processes
Establish process flow and production line layouts
Act as the Operations representative on cross-functional product development teams
Train assemblers, technicians, and engineers on new processes
Present technical reviews of projects to cross-function teams
Occasional travel, as needed, to work with equipment and component suppliers


Ability to work in a team environment - strong in communication and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with medical device design control requirements
Hands-on individual with demonstrated process development experience
Ability to develop and maintain project plans
Attention to detail in process characterization and documentation
Ability to identify critical process parameters and apply statistics to process measurement and control (Design of Experiments)
Ability to develop and execute process validations
Ability to use Solidworks to model/modify components and assemblies
Ability to solve problems using structured methods. Experience breaking down high level (e.g. device level) performance issues into addressable action items.
Requires Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing or related engineering field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical device manufacturing environment
Experience preferred with any/all of the following software: MS-Office, MS-Project, Rhino, Grasshopper, Python, GeoMagic Control, LabView, MatLab, 3DManage, Solumina, QAD, Omnify

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the sustaining team at our Menlo Park site. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the 1st in class MitraClip device, a minimally invasive device used to help the Mitral Valve function properly and dramatically improve the lives of patients with Mitral Valve Regurgitation. Core Job Responsibilities * Provides support to the Manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, to optimize existing processes, and to ensure that production goals are met. * Monitors performance of equipment, machines and tools and corrects equipment problems or process parameters that produce nonconforming products, low yields or product quality issues. Interfaces with Quality and Research and Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area. * Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. * Initiates and completes technical activities leading to new or improved products or process, for current programs, next generation programs and to meet strategic goals and objectives of the company. Prepares reports, publishes, and makes presentations to communicate findings. * Analyzes and solves problems from basic engineering principles, theories and concepts through to a wide range of complex and advanced problems which require novel and new innovative approaches or a major breakthrough in technology. * Understands engineering principles theories, concepts, practices and techniques. Develops knowledge in a field to become a recognized leader or authority in an area of specialization and applies this knowledge in leadership roles in the company. * Incorporates business policies and procedures into task completion. * Understands the business needs of the company, and has knowledge of the customer needs of our business.
