The Role

Moderna is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Associate II, to help support site start-up activities for our Commercial Individualized Neoantigen Therapy (INT) Program. This role will be based in Marlborough, MA but may require regular travel to the Norwood, MA location. As a Sr. Manufacturing Associate II, you will play a crucial role in the production of mRNA vaccines. This position demands a blend of scientific knowledge, operational expertise, and digital proficiency. You'll be an integral part of the site startup team responsible for operational readiness, and execution of Engineering and PPQ runs during the project phase which will last through 2024. The manufacturing team will be dedicated to producing safe and effective medicines, upholding strict cGMP compliance, and contributing to operational excellence in a dynamic, technology-driven environment. Standard working hours for the project phase will be Monday to Friday during the day shift and then will transition into shift work when production begins. The shift work may include 2nd shifts and weekends.

Here's What You'll Do

  • Master safe work practices and adhere to Moderna's safety procedures and guidelines.

  • Collaborate to develop digital infastructure such as electronic batch records to reduce turnaround time (TAT) / Cost of Goods (COG) supporting commercial launch.

  • Author and/or Revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI) and other cGMP documentation as needed.

  • Support Commissioning Qualification and Validation (CQV), PPQ and other site start up activities as needed.

  • Execute operational activities with strict adherence to cGMP, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.

  • Lead 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

  • Cross train on multiple manufacturing processes and lead training for new team members.

  • Escalate issues to shift leadership and assist in troubleshooting as needed.

  • Lead meetings and delegate daily tasks in absence of Supervisor

  • Mentor and Coach junior staff members

  • Participate in regulatory audits as SME for specific process areas.

  • Participate in Deviation Investigations and CAPA.

Here's What You'll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • BS/BA in engineering or sciences with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or laboratory setting.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of experience in a fast paced and dynamic GMP manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of the current INT/PCV process and opportunities for improvement.

  • Ability to collaborate fluidly with peers, leadership and cross-functional support groups required.

  • Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills required.

  • Ability to maintain attention to detail while executing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Proven track record of leadership and independent decision making.

  • This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna's site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work.
