The Asset Management Client Solutions (AMCS), responsible for leading Schwab's 3rd party platforms, offering Mutual Funds, Managed Accounts, ETFs, Annuities & Insurance, and Alternative Investments.
The Sr. Manager, Vendor Oversight, is an individual contributor position and plays a meaningful role within SAMS by supporting business partners' vendor and third party service provider requirements. The role is multifaceted, fast-paced and interacts with multiple stakeholders. This position will be responsible for working with business partners to develop and execute vendor strategic plans; leading all aspects of the contracting lifecycle; as well as collaborating with risk groups and legal, as the need arises, on a wide variety of vendor engagements.
What you're good at
Key activities for this manager include, but are not limited to:
Lead and facilitate contract negotiations with vendors working in partnership with Legal and other partner groups.
Establish positive relationships with SAMS's business partners to support vendor strategies and activities to meet their business requirement and provide consultative support and promote the effective use of vendors
Lead the vendor selection process through request for proposal/information processes
Maintain knowledge of new and existing vendor products, emerging trends, and an understanding how vendor's products are used across the organization
Handle vendor strategy meetings and effectively communicate vendor updates
Perform vendor oversight and management on all assigned vendors per SAMS procedures
Work with internal partners to determine risks and dependencies, and work with Finance, Legal, Third-party Risk Management and Corporate Vendor Management to ensure that Schwab risk is mitigated.
What you have
6-8 years of experience in vendor management, sourcing and contract negotiations
Broad knowledge of indirect services procurement specific to the Asset Management industry including software, professional services, and cloud/SaaS agreements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence, build consensus, integrate multiple streams of information and have a consistent track record of building effective working relationships with senior level business partners.
Passion to learn and contribute in a dynamic work environment
Attention to detail and the ability to move quickly while staying organized
High level of interpersonal and analytical skills, with the capability to make contributions to teams and initiatives
Proficiency in MS-Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) required
Bachelor's degree required
