Position Title: Sr. Manager, Technical SEO

Reports To: Director, Digital Experience

Office Location: Hoboken, NJ

The Sr. Manager of Technical SEO role is responsible for the cross-functional SEO strategies & execution supporting our branded websites. This role is crucial to assuring our digital technology platform is built with SEO best practices in mind, while also ensuring cross-functional partners are provided with best-in-class guidance across copy, digital marketing, user experience & design. This role will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to measure the impact of strategies and tactics, as well as report out on metrics and results.

We are seeking a candidate that has the right mix of passion for SEO and technical aptitude to drive optimization across development, design & digital marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies, in partnership with agency, across our 40 brand sites in the US

  • Audit website and recommend best practice solutions

  • Monitor and analyze performance KPIs (click rates, visits, bounce rate, conversion rate, time on site)

  • Conduct regular keyword research to guide content & copy teams

  • Identify technical SEO issues and recommend fixes via product & development teams

  • Provide go-forward SEO input in discovery & architecture sessions

  • Provide site structure recommendations (architecture, navigation, design)

  • Direct off-page optimizations (e.g. link-building), in partnership with digital marketing & brand teams

  • Develop monthly performance reports, utilizing web analytics and SEO tool inputs

  • Provide competitive and market opportunity analysis

  • Provide audits & recommendations around site redirects

  • Engage in cross channel team collaboration (development, product, digital marketing, social, brand)

  • Incorporate & implement the latest in ADA compliance requirements related to SEO

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest SEO and digital marketing trends & best practices

  • Experience in managing agency relationships, including scope & deliverables

  • Effectively communicate to stakeholders the opportunity for website changes, updates, and content revisions

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience successfully driving SEO

  • Knowledge of current SEO best practices

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • Familiarity with relevant SEO and Web Analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong organizational, time management and leadership skills

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of search engine algorithms and ranking methods

  • Experience working with and managing SCRUM based development teams

  • Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud preferred

  • Comfortable working with business, Technology, and marketing stakeholders

  • Professional attitude and service orientation; team player

  • Analytical approach to decision making to achieve real-time performance optimization

The Sr Marketing Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth in assigned Science disciplines across North America. This position works closely in the field with Sales and with Editorial and Product Design colleagues to develop and execute long-range strategic plans for Knewton Alta and WileyPLUS courses and future educational technology - and partner with Strategic Marketing Services to execute on campaigns. How you will make an impact: * Engage with discipline community customers and prospects through conferences, conversations, social media, and on campus visits * Conduct research with instructors and students to generate insights about assigned segments. * Conduct and maintain competitive analysis * Create differentiated value propositions and positioning for assigned segments and products * Test and validate value propositions in the field with individual interviews, live focus groups, survey, or appropriate strategies * Analyze success of messages and adjust accordingly * Develop a prioritized and thoughtful go to market strategy and annual marketing plan with measurable goals and objectives. * Create account-based strategy and track top target lists for assigned new products and capabilities * Regularly analyse results and take action to improve performance. * Create sales training materials and tools * Teach sales and customer success how to effectively engage with customers in your segment, position and present your product, and how to overcome objections * Engage with sales around top targets and customers * Demonstrate the use of tools through customer calls and presentations * Model effective sales presentations * Develop relationships with authors and advocates * Develop new advocates, thought leaders, partners, and influencers * Plan and execute webinars, conferences, events that generate leads, retain customers, and accelerate the pipeline. * Track effectiveness of tactics and strategies. We are looking for people who: * BA or BS degree preferably in business or marketing * 3-5 years of successful sales/marketing experience in the education technology market preferred.
