Job Description Job Description Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the Sr. Manager, Technical Operations, is responsible for overseeing master control, and the full-time personnel within the technical operations area.

This position will work as part of a collaborative operations manager team and have superior knowledge of master control and technical operations, including signal flow in a multi-layered, multi-channel environment. Responsibilities include providing support to other departments as it pertains to master control and video control duties, assisting the technical operations manager in developing and implementing daily procedures, training, and mentoring of master control and operations technician staff, and providing assistance in scheduling and evaluating staff and maintaining budgetary guidelines for staffing hours, over-time and the closed captioning budget. In addition, this role will be integral in staying on top of technological innovations to constantly improve our workflow and process within Master Control and Operations.

Oversee daily operations of the master control room and the technical operations workflow. Recommend and implement new procedures that will increase quality control and dictated by the developing needs of the network both on a technical and operational level. Knowledge of master control and technical operations as well as overall knowledge of signal flow through all areas of operations; assist technical operations manager in developing and recommending improvements.

Assure quality in the master control output and the areas supported by technical operations by ensuring that all policies and procedures are being followed accurately and consistently. Work with technical operations manager to resolve issues Manage and supervise full-time MCR & technical operations employees including managing performance, conducting reviews, managing employee relations, and assuring compliance with existing company policies and procedures. Work with the technical operations manager to identify individual operator developmental and training needs; make recommendations as to hiring and career advancement and promotion, in addition to other changes of status of master control and operations technicians.

Assist with training of operators as needed based on experience and needs of the department. In partnership with Sr. Director of Operations, VP of Technology and Engineering Lead, stay on top of technical advancements and vendors to keep NESN’s master control workflow and process on the cutting edge of the industry Complete, and/or lead, other related projects and tasks as needed Qualifications: 8 or more years of progressively complex related experience and 5 or more years of managerial or supervisory experience.
