The role of a Sr. Manager System Administration - Service Now is to oversee the Service Now Platform and lead a team responsible for its governance and strategic development. This role includes managing direct reports, collaborating with a Managed Service Provider (MSP) for delivery, and driving the adoption and maturity of the platform across the organization. The Senior Manager will be responsible for aligning the capabilities of Service Now with business needs, implementing best practices, and driving internal adoption. This leader will prioritize and oversee key initiatives such as establishing practices around the use, management, and maintenance of a Configuration Management Database (CMDB), further the implementation of IT Operations Management (ITOM), and maintain HRSD. The role will also involve future module implementation that can include Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Information Risk Management (IRM), Native Callout, Business Continuity, and other approved modules providing documented return.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of direct reports responsible for the Service Now Platform, providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure successful outcomes.

Lead a governance team for Service Now, collaborating closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritize platform-related work to be delivered by the Managed Service Provider.

Drive the maturity of the Service Now Platform by ensuring adherence to Service Now's Common Service Data Model (CSDM) as the standard framework, developing best practices, and promoting widespread organizational adoption to enhance service delivery and operations.

Oversee the adoption of Service Now within the IT department and other business units, reducing reliance on other third-party tools and maximizing the platform's capabilities.

Work closely with the Managed Service Provider to monitor and optimize Service Now performance and efficiency.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for leveraging Service Now modules to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business needs and Service Now solution capabilities.

Conduct cost-benefit analysis for future module implementation, such as Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Information Risk Management (IRM), and Business Continuity.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Service Management and IT Operations, making recommendations for improvement and driving innovation within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in IT Service Management, with a focus on Service Now Platform administration and management.

  • In-depth knowledge of Service Now modules, including CMDB, ITOM, ITSM, and other relevant areas.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a transition to, implementation of, or significant enhancements of the Service Now Platform within an organization.

  • Proven experience managing a team of direct reports and collaborating with Managed Service Providers.

  • Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and their implementation within Service Now.

  • Experience in driving adoption and transformation of IT processes utilizing Service Now.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Service Now Certifications such as Certified System Administrator or Certified Implementation Specialist(s) would be preferred but not required.
