What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a Freight Bill Audit & Payment Sr. Managerto join our team in La Vergne, Tn. The FBAP Sr. Manager will manage the daily operations with accountability for accuracy and timeliness of the freight bill audit and payment process as well as all carrier compliance and claims activities. The FBAP Senior Manager is responsible for the development, deployment, training and operational management of the freight bill audit and payment process as well as all carrier compliance and claims activities covering $350M+ in annual expenses. The FBAP Manager will continuously improve and standardize the freight payment process across all Yazaki North and Central American legal entities.

The FBAP Senior Manager is responsible for providing direction and leadership to ensure all invoices related to 17,000+ monthly shipments are processed and paid on time, including GL coding and validation. Managing these efforts will require excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills working with carriers, third party payment vendors, accounts payable, indirect purchasing, transportation, and operations teams.

What you will be doing:

The Sr. Manager must work in conjunction with Executive Leadership and liaise with multiple business and support teams across the company to ensure goals are accomplished.

People:

  • Interview associates (Supervisors/Specialists/Analysts). Participate on recruitment and assignment of personnel required within organizational structure. Define duties, responsibilities and scope of authority and accountability within FBAP team.

  • Conduct performance reviews, corrective action, and goal setting for team of salaried employees.

  • Provide career development, mentoring, and promotional opportunities to direct reports to create future leaders.

  • Provide leadership to team members in identifying risks early and guide them in developing appropriate mitigation plans as well as escalation points.

  • Utilize leadership skills to align, develop and lead a diverse workforce to a common goal.

  • Ensure team has a strong focus on details and is thoroughly trained in the problem resolution and escalation process.

  • Intervene when necessary to resolve issues with strong customer focus.

Operations:

  • Lead the FBAP team in implementing and optimizing FBAP processes and procedures.

  • Streamline the FBAP process by leveraging systems and third-party payment vendors to automate manual tasks and enhance efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve controls and maintain strong relationships.

  • Oversee 3-way matching process, third party payment vendor, and month end accrual process.

  • Support FBAP team with carrier freight payment and aging concerns.

  • Validate month end accrual process to ensure all supporting documentation and analysis is provided timely.

  • Support the transportation team by providing freight payment KPI's and spend reporting.

Requirements:

  • Degree Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Transportation Operations or related Logistics field strongly preferred

  • Freight bill audit and payment experience preferred

  • Certification Requirements: None

  • Previous Experience:4 - 6 years related experience in the logistics / supply chain industry required

  • 2 - 4 years managerial experience and strong familiarity with 3-way matching required

  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule and work at the specific location

  • Language: English & Spanish Required

  • Software: Freight Payment / Transportation Management System experience preferred

  • On Call Requirements: None

  • Physical Requirements: Primarily Sedentary
