JOB MISSION:

The Site Experience Team is responsible for the consumer site experience on NewBalance.com and NewBalance.ca and ensuring consumers have a positive experience with the brand while delivering on the financial targets. The Site Experience Senior Manager is responsible for leading a team that serves as a connection point, integrating the North America site operations, marketing, and merchandising teams. Their goal is to create a consumer-first, brand accretive site experience that also delivers against sales goals. The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning and maintaining an editorial calendar for the total site and ensure fluid choreography across all vehicles. These plans should incorporate brand and global guidance as well as regional and seasonal nuances and ensure the budget is delivered. The Senior Manager will constantly look to the future and think about how to evolve the consumer experience and optimize the site functionality - always keeping the consumer top of mind and researching best in class ecommerce experiences. To be successful in this role, you will need to collaborate with regional ecommerce team members as well as global direct-to-consumer teams, marketing, development, and creative teams. This position will report to the Sr. Director of eCommerce.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Champion the consumer throughout all aspects of the site and shopping journey

  • Responsible for the P&L of NB.com/.ca and determining the business decisions that impact the channel. Includes responsibility for looking at the analytics, understanding the puts and takes of the P&L and spending time focused on the forecast and accuracy of the business. The Senior Manager is expected to complete analysis and dive into issues and opportunities of the business to ensure the financials can be delivered and if possible, over delivered

  • Drive a digital first and obsessed culture across NA team through meticulously reviewing all consumer touchpoints (from Home Page to cart checkout to product reviews) and utilizing site metric and consumer data points to drive decision making

  • Create editorial plans, that are consumer centric and sales driving to ensure New Balance ecommerce supports our sales goals in a brand accretive fashion. Lead team along with Marketing and Merchant counterparts through plans and needed actions to ensure alignment across the NA organization

  • Work in lock step with eComm and global merchant teams to understand the long-term assortment strategy and consumer targets; build out vision that supports that will bring product to life across digital platforms

  • Partner with the Site Operations Manager on constantly evolving the site structure and processes to achieve the desired front-end experience. Ensure teams are working in harmony to accomplish

  • Regularly meet with regional and global marketing teams to align on key priorities and brand initiatives. Effectively communicate when and why regional nuances are needed and ensure they are incorporated upstream in the planning process

  • Lead a culture of innovation by brainstorming new and inventive optimizations and enhancements in site functionality - keep the consumer top of mind and focus on creating more engaging and frictionless shopping experiences. Align with global digital product management teams to roadmap, prioritize, and bring to life this work.

  • Partner with Consumer Analytics and Marketing to launch Personalization efforts throughout site and marketing vehicles. Support Personalization associate in developing their roadmap, calendar and hitting deliverables

  • Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors' activities to identify opportunities and key issues.

  • Point person for the region for company and brand initiatives, including but not limited to, Responsible Leadership. Provide consumer lens to internal stakeholders and communicate regular updates to leadership while gaining buy-in on recommendations and/or approach

  • Ability to manage a team at multiple levels through the training and development of site skill sets while holding them accountable for execution and delivery of their job responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • 7+ years relevant experience in ecommerce, digital advertising and/or user experience preferred

  • Passion for the industry is welcome, but more importantly an obsession with interesting and innovative ecommerce and digital retail experiences is desired

  • Penchant for storytelling and crafting brand/retail focused messages in a digital environment

  • Effective influencing and communication skills at multiple levels within the organization including senior management; strong ability to manage up to gain support for what the business and team needs

  • Previous experience managing and developing a high performing team

  • Proficient PC skills, including MS Office Suite and advanced Excel skills

  • Proficient in Site Metrics and Financials, experience with Adobe or Google Analytics

  • Collaborative, action-oriented thinking is a must

  • Ability to think and plan strategically and make site decisions 1-2 years in advance

  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Must be results driven, passionate and accountable

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced "Work from Anywhere" (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year.
