Sr. Manager, Sale Analytics (Andover, MA, Austin, TX or remote)

Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales Operations, this role will have responsibility for leading the Sales Analytics team in the US Sports Medicine & ENT franchise within Smith+Nephew.

The Sales Analytics team works in close collaboration with the extended Sales organization and is responsible for the accuracy and delivery of Sales Reporting and data analytics that helps accelerate sales growth.

The US Sales Operations team helps to build, execute and support processes across the sales continuum including Personnel, Territory/Account Alignment, Funnel Management, Sales Analytics, and Comp Design & Execution. The Senior Manager, Sales Analytics is a key role and will be responsible for leading and enhancing our current sales reporting and analytics. We have Sales Operations projects underway that include building an integrated and automated process for sales reporting, quota management, annual awards rankings and, ultimately, commission execution.

What will you be doing?

Lead the Sales Analytics team with a keen focus on improving our Sales Reporting systems while bringing value and insights to the field. Sales Analytics is more than just Sales Reporting; a Sales Analytics team provides insights and actions that are generated by analyzing and diagnosing data and trends. The Sales Analytics leader will work closely with the field sales leaders to understand their needs and deliver reports/analysis that helps drive revenue growth and achieve targets. Project Management and/or Change Management skills will be needed as we continue to transform and enhance our processes.

The role of the Sales Analytics leader includes managing our current Sales Reports and Process; ensuring accuracy and reliability in reports; looking for process improvement in how we structure, develop, and deliver sales analytics; managing Quotas for the SPM and ENT sales organizations at all levels; and owning the annual Awards program. This leader also supports field inquiries and works with other support organizations to reconcile sales reports.

In addition, this individual plays a key role in acting as the liaison between the sales organization and the Commission team. Given the proximity and ownership of our sales results, this team is the go-to for the sales organization to help identify and resolve sales/commission issues. Based on that responsibility, it is critical that this leader plays an active role in developing and understanding the compensation components and design of comp plans.

The Senior Manager, Sales Analytics will also interact with other cross-functional teams to deliver analytics for sustained growth, including:

  • Finance - to ensure sales are trending as expected relative to budget and growth

  • Product Marketing - for review and tracking of new product launches, market analysis, etc.
