Right now, we are looking for an outstanding and driven Senior Manager - Revenue Integrity Auditing who has a comprehensive understanding of hospital Revenue Cycle Management coupled with strong leadership skills. Significant experience in the following areas: hospital inpatient and outpatient coding, charge capture, and hospital reimbursement methodologies. The candidate must have experience leading audit teams. The ideal candidate for this position should approach problem-solving challenges independently, possess excellent leadership experience, strong attention to detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based environment.

The charge specialist will be accountable for ensuring that account information contains accurate and comprehensive data to allow for timely billing and optimal reimbursement for services. The specialist will impact processes that include charge capture, coding, insurance identification, data entry, billing, payment posting, refund processing, and collections. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Position Responsibilities: * Under direct supervision, the charge specialist will analyze charge integrity, reconciliation, and charge linkages from ancillary charging systems for the medical center. * Examines and evaluates research related charges for appropriate and consistent routing to the appropriate payor using Coverage Analysis. * Utilizes knowledge of various systems-including but not limited to: * EPIC - Electronic Medical Record System (EMR) & Electronic Health Record (EHR) * OnCore - Clinical Trial Management System * Government websites, and/or non-government websites and any other information systems needed during detailed review. * Interprets coverage analysis information and enters important details to provide an audit trail for further review. * Reviews billing grids to identify research charges associated with a Clinical Research Trial. * Notifies manager of possible procedural change for improving efficiency. * Must adhere to all policies and procedures provided by Rush, Research Revenue Cycle Department, government, and HIPPA. * Works on small projects or segments of larger projects, learning to compile data, interpret trends, and perform financial analyses of research revenue cycle operations. * Under direct supervision, works proactively with assigned departments to assure appropriate research revenue cycle practices and compliance with internal and external regulations. * Acquires skills to participate on teams and analyzing research revenue cycle workflows to propose improvements in efficiencies and timeliness. Assists in developing workflow solutions to maximize revenues. * Communicates effectively with team, departments and clinical staff. * Engages in implementing process improvement initiatives by recognizing revenue enhancement opportunities. * Willingness to engage in continual education and training in the subject field. * Assigned to special projects as they occur. * Other relevant duties as assigned. Position Qualifications Include: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Minimum 2-3 years of healthcare experience working with billing, charge entry, charge capture, or CDM. * Proficient and functional knowledge of reviewing charges in an EMR system (Epic, Meditech, Siemens). * Excellent communication and organizational skills. * Analytical and problem solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * Ability to work under minimal supervision and as a team member. * Ability to achieve stated objectives and goals. * Ability to demonstrate continuous personal development and improvement. * Proficiency in the use of personal computers for communication and internet access. Preferred Job Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related discipline. * Coding certification(s). * Knowledge of medication administration, research billing, emergency room procedure, or E&M level charge capture. * General understanding of various payment and coding systems in healthcare.
