The Sr. Manager of Financial Reporting & Analytics will lead a team of tech savvy professionals with backgrounds across business intelligence, reporting, data science, advanced mathematics, and financial systems.

The team is chartered at supporting the total company's financial reporting and analytics capability. The leader of this team will be responsible for both directly serving the executive/finance leadership team as well as building out the reporting framework and analytics capability to enable and support the broader finance organization.

The successful candidate will be multi-disciplined with a logical/analytical mindset, a clear understanding of financials, and a background in leveraging technologies to achieve abnormally superior results. This roles focus will be on developing a framework for Enterprise financial/operational performance metrics as well as developing the tools and digital platform for monitoring the financials. Where deviation (to the better or worse) from the expected performance occurs, this team will be responsible for identifying the underlying drivers impacting performance and helping the business leaders to exploit trends to optimize outcomes of the financials/KPIs being monitored.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Partnering with the Finance leadership to establish the reporting/metrics framework for how we will monitor the financial performance of the company

Development/leverage of a robust digital platform for monitoring of financial results and key supporting KPIs utilizing tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and other delivery tools

Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining core financial data elements (master data, measure definitions, hierarchies, algorithms, etc.)

Partnering with the broader finance organization to leverage the existing knowledgebase

Participating in the Enterprise wide underlying platform rebuild aimed at modernization of our Analytical capabilities

Performing deep and complex analysis to discover underlying business drivers and how to leverage those insights to optimize and impact outcomes

Mentoring, coaching, and inspiring the Enterprise Financial Analytics analysts on the team

Creation of Daily, Weekly, and Monthly informational presentations and/or flashes

Deliver analysis and findings to leadership and business teamsoften through formal presentation

Partner with the leadership team and the broader finance/business community to stay abreast of current business concerns, potential opportunities, and information needs

Maintain knowledge and stays current of developments in the fields of Finance and Technology, business intelligence, data warehousing, data science, and emerging technologies

Contribute to the broader financial/Enterprise tools roadmap in partnership with Finance/IT leadership

As the Director, Data Science, Analytics and Reporting, you will lead a team responsible for identifying trends, developing insights and making recommendations to the leadership team. In addition, you will bring digital knowledge together to deliver insightful reporting and ad hoc analytics. Solutions may involve constructing machine learning models and implementing quantitative applications that result in actionable results. You will also have responsibility for model development and model governance including the Allowance model and responsibility for the oversight of the mortgage and retail quality control program. What will you do? * 75% Data Science * Lead team in leveraging extensive machine learning tools and business knowledge in order to derive new insights, improve efficiency, and enable data-driven decision making * Responsible for providing reporting, statistical trends and analysis for business and works closely with Product management team * Works closely with Senior Management team to support business strategy through insights derived from analytics and reporting * Shares responsibility for building, validating and automating new metrics, dashboards and reports * Manage a Mortgage and Retail quality control program including oversight of internal and external third-party providers. * Conduct defective product analysis to understand the root cause & provide early warning of problem areas in order that corrective action is taken to avoid unnecessary risk or expense. * Conduct target analysis on critical risk identification; recognize individual errors but drive toward trend analysis. * Assess accuracy & integrity of data used to underwrite mortgage credit products. * Maintain oversight of model development and model governance including the model used to estimate loan losses which is one of the largest expense items on the bank's balance sheet. * Maintain primary oversight of portfolio performance including the account management process, vintage analysis and deep dive portfolio segment analysis in addition to identifying opportunities to support business growth. * Promote analytics across the enterprise to enable RBC to become a data-driven organization.
