POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the coordinated management of multiple related projects, and in many cases, ongoing operations which are directed toward a common objective. Works with constituent Project Managers (who are responsible to the Program Manager for the execution of their project and its impact on the program) to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program. Generally responsible for determining and coordinating the sharing of resources among their constituent projects to the overall benefit of the program. Usually responsible for stakeholder management particularly stakeholders external to the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to coordinate and manage the major projects life cycle change requirements.

  • Provides Program level E2E Demand and Project Management Oversight for all projects assigned to program including the Planning, Execution, and Monitoring and Controlling phases.

  • Proactively anticipates and manages planning activities driving readiness for future phase scope, timeline, budget and resources (charter deadlines, budget assumptions, vendor management signals, etc.) of the program. (Working closely with BRD/M and Capability Consultant - if one exists for the capability area).

Responsible for overall program financial planning, budgeting, and accruals -- Works closely with financial management team.

  • Responsible for financial management including monitoring the overall reliability of project estimates vs. actual performance.

  • Engages in budget and financials management and partners with contract management team to review deliverables against contract and verify invoices.

Manages the business outcomes/expectations by establishing and maintaining working relationships with business management, portfolio sponsors, service providers, and technology management.

  • Partners with business and IT stakeholders to drive clarity on work expectations.

  • Ensures that intended business outcomes are clear, understood, measurable, and ultimately realized. Communicates issues & status to the affected stakeholders.

  • Ensures program/project tasks are in place to drive adoption.

Resource and capacity management including Project and Program Managers, Resource Managers and project delivery teams-- both domestic and international.

  • Plan and lead PMO resources and requirements.

  • Works with Resource Management and Vendor Management to ensure the appropriate resources are planned to execute the project (s) related to assigned Program

  • Supports IT capital, expense and deferrals for balance sheet and P&L impact.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 12 + years in IT or professional services experiences in IT delivery

  • 7+ years formal project management experience managing various types of IT projects (e.g., discovery, software development, infrastructure, capital, business intelligence), IT programs and familiarity of working in a Project Management Office

  • Experience working with various projects and portfolio management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Office including Project, SharePoint, and Visio, ServiceNow, PPM, Agile/Scrum methods / waterfall)

  • Evidence of successfully managing diverse project teams (e.g., outsourced, multi-vendor, or geographically distributed)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience project management and IT industry experience

  • Extensive experience in managing large, complex international projects in a multinational/multicultural environments with multiple stakeholders

  • Deep experience and demonstrated leadership in managing international project stakeholder teams from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds

  • Professional certification e.g. PMP, ITIL or PgMP will be advantageous

  • Deep experience in using key methodologies such as ITIL, SDLC, PMBOK and PRINCE2

  • Proven experience in using sophisticated PPM tool and advanced user in project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Sharepoint)

Experience in any of the GI indications would be an advantage.
