Time and Attendance is looking for a Senior Manager to own global time and attendance policy.

Time and Attendance (TAA) is a rapidly growing team tackling new, hard problems that Amazon has not solved at scale and creating fundamentally improved ways for employees to record time and receive accurate pay. We balance start-up vision and operational excellence, technical complexity and clear product definition, and global scope across multiple Amazon businesses. We are developing software solutions to support Amazon's high-growth populations.

We've all heard about 24/7/365. That's 8760 hours in a year. Now multiply that by the hundreds of thousands of hourly workers at Amazon those who work in our fulfillment, customer service, Alexa data services, and AWS data centers; employees in our growing number of Amazon Books bookstores and subsidiaries. On every continent. Factor in the number of different variations of a "work week," work day, overtime, and an equally daunting amount of reporting requirements. Who are we looking for to join our team?

In order to achieve rapid deployment of time solutions, we need to clearly understand the time and attendance policies - and resulting pay rules - for our associates. TAA is looking for a dedicated leader to work with HR, Compliance, Legal, business line leaders, and our product team drive simplified and consistent global time and attendance policy. Undocumented policy is the biggest barrier to efficient requirements gathering and shorter development cycles. Complex policy creates a poor associate and manager experience, and unneeded policy differentiation can create friction for associates as they move between sites or businesses. This is a high visibility role that requires perseverance and invention, tech fluency, an ability to earn trust quickly, and the ability to write documents to drive decisions with director and VP-level business, HR, and legal leaders across Amazon.

The TAA policy leader will manage a team responsible for documenting policy requirements for time and attendance system implementation, cultivating a pipeline of standardization opportunities, driving specific policy standardization projects, and providing expertise and thought leadership to the broader product and tech teams. Successful candidates should be comfortable writing for a VP audience, delivering projects with distributed ownership, and working through ambiguous problems with undefined owners. The right candidate is one who dives deep and has demonstrated success delivering results in previously undefined problem spaces.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • 7+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects

  • 7+ years of experience in program or project management

  • 7+ years of experience managing teams

  • 7+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Extensive work experience in Program Management, Product Management, or Technology organizations

  • Lead Program and/or Product Management experience with direct ownership of roadmap and milestone planning.

  • Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders

  • Demonstrated skills in developing product roadmaps & capturing business requirements, launching projects, and conducting customer research.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-complexity projects

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements.

  • Must show evidence of using data to inform decisions

  • Must have a demonstrable track record of delivering results.

  • Must demonstrate fluency in English language both written and verbal.

  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills; sufficient poise to successfully interact with all levels of an organization, cross-functional partners, and customers.

  • Passion for technology, curiosity to dive deep into Amazon's suite of technical products and commitment to learning and expanding technical knowledge

  • BA/BS education or equivelent

  • Quantitative background with proven ability to synthesize and make sense out of huge amounts of data

  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems independently with an extreme attention to detail

  • Strong strategic aptitude; proven ability to define the right business strategy and develop the product roadmap to deliver it

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders successfully without formal authority and lead cross-functional teams across geographies and business units

  • Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative solutions for complex customer problems

  • Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technology concepts, experience evaluating trade-offs and new opportunities with technical team members
