Since the early 1960s, providing Cardmembers flexibility to pay charges over time has been a key feature of the American Express Premium Charge Cards. Today, Pay Over Time is one of the largest products in the consumer lending portfolio and it is a critical driver of profitability. Pay Over Time features provide Cardmembers a critical tool to manage their account while enhancing the flexibility of the Charge cards.
We seek a highly motivated, end-to-end product owner who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join the GCL Pay Over Time product organization. This Senior Manager will be responsible for all aspects of product development, from ideation to implementation, as well as overall program management to ensure the effective execution of multiple project priorities that will drive business growth.
Product strategy: Design product development strategy and manage the near and long-term product roadmap.
Product development: Lead product development workstreams for phased launches and on-going product enhancements, draft detailed user stories, manage product backlog, prioritize features and work with engineers to groom, sprint plan, and implement new features.
Feature iteration: Monitor results and feedback post launch to refine features and iterate.
Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including but not limited to Premium Products, Technology, Marketing, Customer Experience, Finance, Risk, Pricing, General Counsel, and Compliance.
Expertise: Be an expert in Agile product development and embed it into team culture.
Creative thinker. You thrive on problem-solving and coming up with out-of-the-box solutions for every day challenges and can adapt quickly to changing needs and priorities.
Customer focused. You design compelling products that put cardmember needs first and have an innate ability to perceive, assess and solve stakeholder requirements.
Excellent project manager. You have superior organizational skills and attention to detail with a proven ability to autonomously manage several objectives in parallel and drive results in a fast-paced, multi-partner environment.
Compelling communicator. You have a strong professional presence and are an effective communicator with an ability to establish good working relationships with partners of all levels.
Valued partner. You have strong interpersonal and influence management skills that allow for close partnerships with many different constituents with varied priorities.
Product expert. You have experience with SAFe Agile, the product development process and Rally and/or JIRA.
Relevant experience. You have a minimum 5 years of experience in product development & management and/or program management.
