Job Summary

The Sr. Manager of Purchasing(Indirect) will oversee the Indirect Procurement team while directly interfacing with the Senior Leadership team and partnering directly with Department heads (e.g., Operations, HR, Marketing, Engineering, IT, and R&D) and their teams. This role will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships with suppliers and internal customers to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high quality, reliability and limiting risk. Your strategic approach to procurement will contribute to the organization's efficiency, profitability, and overall success.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives, values, and quality standards

  • Monitor supplier performance, address any issues or concerns, and drive continuous improvement through collaboration and feedback

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect categories such as IT, Marketing, HR, MRO Capital Equipment & Facilities Management, which take a long-term view of new trends

  • Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing

  • Analyze spending patterns and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

  • Implement cost reduction initiatives, including supplier consolidation, volume discounts, and value engineering, while maintaining product quality and service levels.

  • Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, leveraging market insights and benchmarking data to achieve favorable terms, pricing, and contractual terms.

  • Ensure contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements and mitigate risks through effective contract management.

  • Evaluate and streamline procurement processes to ensure compliance, increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance the overall procurement experience.

  • Implement best practices, standardize procedures, and leverage technology solutions to automate repetitive tasks and improve decision-making.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including supply disruptions, vendor dependencies, geopolitical factors, and regulatory compliance.

  • Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize potential impacts on business operations.

  • Monitor and measure Sourcing and Procurement organization effectiveness against established performance metrics.

  • Develop a highly qualified and effective Procurement Organization

  • Facilitate change management with colleagues and key stakeholders throughout the organization.

  • Originates new concepts and innovative approaches for the organization; develops skills of supporting team and provides performance review reporting.

  • Establish KPI/Metrics and reporting

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in field of Business, Engineering, Sciences or Supply Chain Management

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • CPSM a plus

  • 7+ years' experience in procurement, with emphasis on spend areas such as IT, HR, Marketing, MRO, Capital Equipment & Facilities Management

  • Industrial manufacturing and/or Business Management experience preferred

  • Experienced in the use of SAP, Ironclad and Ariba to include analytics, catalogs, contract and agreements

  • Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Suite

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer-centricity focus
