Career Opportunity:

The Senior Manager of Pricing: Corporate Accounts is responsible for managing the activities of the corporate account bid desk team. In this role, the candidate will work directly with Commercial leadership to develop pricing execution for bid events, contract renewals, and other projects as needed. Pricing execution will be based on Commercial strategies developed for each account and regional pricing and profitability goals. Additionally, the Senior Manager of Pricing: Corporate Accounts will be responsible for developing and maintaining a process to ensure that there is an orderly transition between bid event and the onboarding or continuation of business with a customer after a bid has concluded. Furthermore, the Senior Manager of Pricing: Corporate Accounts will be responsible for ensuring that WestRock is appropriately capturing the value it delivers its customers in situations where we can provide unique solutions, with a particular focus on innovative solutions, as bid events unfold.

In addition to the business focus areas listed above, the Senior Manager of Pricing: Corporate Accounts will be responsible for managing the daily workload and developing the skill set of a team of analysts on the bid team. Furthermore, the Senior Manager of Pricing will be responsible for making sure the tools used to evaluate bid events are up to date and working effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Pricing Activities for WestRock Corporate Bid Team Events

  • Develop strong relationship with Regional and Area commercial team members to ensure confidence in bid activities exists across the organization

  • Establish weekly report to communicate active and upcoming bid activities to commercial leadership team members

  • Assign activity within the team to ensure balanced workload among team members while ensuring deadlines for pricing are met

  • Accountable for maintaining and improving the tools used to price corporate account opportunities

  • Coordinate activities with local pricing team members to ensure strategic and information alignment needed to make key decisions in the bid process

  • Execute bid activity post-mortem reporting process to ensure we can track market trends and customer history over time

  • Oversee Development of Corporate Bid Analyst Team Skill set and Toolset

  • Identify strengths within the team as well as opportunities for additional education among team members

  • Identify and implement tools and process improvements to enhance the team's productivity.

  • Balance the workload of the corporate bid desk with the skill set that exists within the team

  • Ensure Orderly Transition From Bid to Business

  • Oversees the communication of bid pricing to appropriate commercial team members to ensure that we are executing the pricing submitted in bid activities

  • Develops clear communication of what pricing is within realm of a bid event versus local pricing opportunities that result in the ability to increase margin within an account

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Master's Degree Preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in a combination of pricing, analytics, finance, sales, or operations

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with Qlik view and Qlik cloud

  • Professional Pricing Society Certification strongly recommended

  • At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing company
