The Opportunity

We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Packaging Engineering to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This permanent position will report to the VP-Engineering and duties include but are not limited to the following;

• Lead our packaging engineering team through the entire packaging development process, from design to prototyping, specifications, performance testing, and equipment interfacing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market.

• Act as a liaison with international markets to develop and commercialize regional products.

• Optimize our packaging supply base for cost, lead time, quality, regionalization, standardization, supply assurance, and compliance.

• Pioneer the search for new material technology solutions to optimize packaging and drive sustainability, performance, and savings across all facilities.

• Support operations and quality teams in troubleshooting packaging line performance issues.

• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to packaging materials and design, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.

• Partner with procurement and quality teams to evaluate and approve new and alternate packaging material suppliers.

• Collaborate with equipment engineering and manufacturing groups to ensure packaging designs and material selections are optimized for automation, efficiency, and reliability.

• Oversee the hiring, training, and workload management of engineering staff, while continually evaluating team performance.

The Skills you will bring to the team

• Bachelor's Degree in a materials program required; Bachelor's Degree in Packaging strongly preferred.

• 8+ years of engineering management and packaging materials experience in food, dairy, and CPG.

• Institute of Packaging Certification.

• 5+ years of experience managing people.

• Technical expertise in packaging materials, processes, and automated equipment interface.

• Proven cross-functional project leadership.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to develop and mentor engineering staff.
