Maxar is currently seeking a Sr. Manager of Facilities and Real Estate to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will be part of the Maxar Operations leadership team and lead the Palo Alto facilities team in maintaining clean room manufacturing and office facilities in Palo Alto and San Jose.
You will be responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance of a large portfolio of complex facilities while collaborating with site leaders and business partners to address evolving space needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Maxar and play a key role in support of manufacturing operations building our next generation of satellites. The role will report to the Vice President of Spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Test.
Responsibilities:
Manage building infrastructure systems and related assets
Maintain a robust preventive and corrective maintenance program through internal and external resources
Use data analysis to drive building systems strategy and drive energy efficiency
Respond to facility operation emergencies [power outage, thermal event, alarm activation, etc] to maximize up time, including nights and weekends
Build strategic relationships with the business unit leaders to align space planning activities to their business objectives and site-specific needs, analyze current process and procedures and implement process improvements as necessary
Analyze occupancy/vacancy data for space planning and portfolio planning
Manage sub-contractors for architectural, mechanical, electrical, landscaping, janitorial, and other 3rd party services
Partner with real estate broker to manage leases and interface with landlords
Manage critical data center infrastructure
Manage budget and forecasting for all maintenance and repairs, including Opex and Capex
Partner with the Environmental Health and Safety team to ensure facilities are code compliant and technicians are trained and prepared to respond to emergencies
Support Finance in managing property insurance
Manage fleet of leased vehicles
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government secret level security clearance.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities management
Prior experience managing maintenance personnel such as HVAC Engineers, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Technicians
Must possess a thorough working knowledge of facilities infrastructure, building management systems, building codes, governing agency requirements, materials, and standards
Leadership and vendor management experience
Work onsite in Palo Alto 5 days per week
Ability to be on call as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates a collaborative role with corporate partners (IT, Security, EHS, etc.) and leadership
Demonstrates effective leadership and people management skills including performance management, career development and coaching
Demonstrates a basic understanding of HVAC systems, electrical, and plumbing
Possesses strong social and communication skills, writing skills, negotiation skills, and problem-solving skills representative of Maxar company values
Ability to achieve objectives by working with cross-functional teams
Understand how to interpret blueprints and other facility planning tools
Project management capabilities with proven successful experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge and use of facilities management software

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$132,000.00 - $220,000.00 annually.
Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
