The Amazon Physical Media team (Books, DVD, Music, Software and Video Games) is looking for a talented Senior Manger to head the Media Pricing and Analytics team and drive world-class analysis to guide strategic business decisions. At Amazon, you will be working in one of the world's largest and most complex data environments. The leader of Media Pricing and Analytics team occupies a unique role at the intersection of business, technology, finance, statistics, data mining, and social science.

To succeed in this role you should be passionate about working with large datasets and be someone who loves to bring data together to answer key business questions and translate the data into meaningful insights. You should have a solid understanding of pricing theories and practices, data mining and an ability to use the data in financial and statistical modeling. In this role, you will develop strong working relationships with business partners to define and understand key business questions, manage team effort to analyze data to answer those questions and play an integral role in strategic decision-making. We are looking for a leader who is a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and has the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The successful candidate has excellent team leadership skills, outstanding business acumen, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Strong leadership and vision for how to drive the team to create changes in business partnerships, analytics, and metrics/reporting.

  • Lead and develop a team of BIEs, BAs and Pricing Managers

  • Be able to manage sophisticated analytical exercises to drive actionable outcome and business decision-making in the fields of Pricing, Customer and Marketing analytics.

  • Ability to think big, participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions,

  • Seen as a thought leader who understands business strategy and can create insightful and effective solutions
