Summary
Directs and coordinates activities of the assigned production area. Receive production orders from sales group and implement the production schedule. Coordinates requests from technical engineering for new product development by providing materials and resources to implement test schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Reviews production and operating reports and conduct daily meetings to coordinate and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Compiles, stores, retrieves and presents production data.
Design, create, implement and maintain a management information system for the production area.
Plan and schedule day to day production based on production orders and/or Technical Engineering test requirements.
Administer personnel policies and procedures for area of responsibility. This including employment interviewing, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal administration, and resolving worker grievances.
Supports all groups in troubleshooting of quality or performance issues.
Skills and Specifications
Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel; a mechanical aptitude; problem solving and interpersonal skills.
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Education and Qualifications
Eight to ten years similar or related experience.
A college degree in a technical discipline or a master's degree (non-technical) or non-technical degree plus professional certification.
This position involves working with technologies and information which are subject to U.S. export control regulations. Under these regulations, Toray CMA must review certain candidate information including citizenship, basis of United States work authorization and country of origin. This information would be used for export control screening purposes only.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
