The Operating Model/Agile Sr. Manager is responsible for the Global Technology Organization's (GTO) Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Operating Model and the development and execution of the agile strategy at Mattel. The Operating Model/Agile Manager will drive and evolve bimodal (agile, hybrid, waterfall), fit-for-purpose methodologies, tools, and templates across the IT global organization for predictable and transparent delivery. He/she will also ensure compliance to program and project governance, methodologies, best practices, and standards.

The Operating Model/Agile Sr. Manager is charged to define the agile strategy, refine the agile practice, and develop and execute against a multi-year roadmap for applicable platforms in GTO. The goal of the Operating Model/Agile Manager is to provide process strategic leadership, enable industry best practices, implement continuous improvements, and mature the organization by guiding the day-to-day adoption of current model and ongoing model evolution.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Implement Operating Model practices with market research, thought leadership, capability development, skills/process enablement

  • Drive the next evolution of the Operating model including evaluating and implementing improvements to methodologies, tools, process and people/roles, and systems

  • Develop and deliver annual training curriculum and train on new and key operating model processes to ensure adherence to reduce churn in project teams and platform pods

  • Own and host weekly program and project governance and IT Advisory Board meetings to help project teams review operating model gates, mitigate risks and resolve issues

  • Ensuring Operating Model initiatives are effectively road mapped and an integrated approach by helping effectively screen, prioritize, setup, manage, resource, and report on key performance metrics

  • Define and implement consistent agile standards and best practices

  • Define and support Agile estimation methods, Release Planning, metrics, scorecards and other scaling activities and events to improve maturity

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) across the organization for Scrum, Kanban and Lean methodologies

  • Drive adoption of Agile practices, techniques, and frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe and Kanban within IT organization

  • Coach, mentor and guide teams on their agile journey to becoming self-sustaining, high performing agile teams

  • Create and execute training at all levels

  • Educate and coach executives and senior leadership on agile transformation strategy and implementation

  • Define and implement project level financial reporting and dashboards to help track project level summary and status

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) across the organization for Scrum, Kanban and Lean methodologies

  • Create and execute training to support training calendar events

  • Experience coaching executives and senior leadership on agile transformation strategy and implementation

What We're Looking For:

  • B.S., B.A. in Computer Science or related discipline, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting preferred or equivalent job experience

  • PMP certification (preferred)

  • Higher-level Industry Agile certifications such as SAFe SPC, SAFe RTE Certification, ICP-PCC, ICP-MCC, ACI, Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), Certified Scrum Coach (CSC)

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise processes, transformation, project delivery, process consulting & re-engineering, IT operating models, strategy, and business case development backgroung

  • Drive industry thought leadership to be recognized internally and externally, as a subject matter expert on operating models

  • Deep understanding of SDLC project delivery methodologies and program/project management practices

  • Proven track record effectively managing stakeholders

  • Deep understanding of Agile values, principles, and practices (Scrum and Kanban)

  • Hands on experience in Scrum & Kanban as well as Agile scaling methodologies - such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • Commitment to continuous learning, highly efficient in coaching Scrum Masters, team members and Product Owner

  • Prior Experience and coaching in large scale enterprise Agile Transformations

  • Knowledgeable in DevOps practices

  • Expertise in coaching teams on the use of agile tools like Atlassian Jira and Jira Align
