Position Summary

Senior Manager, IT Data position will be responsible for managing enterprise data warehouse, integrations, analytics and reporting platforms and solutions at FleetPride. This person will be managing a team of BI Lead(s), BI Developer(s) and BI Architect(s) (Onsite and Offshore) for delivering the highest quality data and reporting solutions for all FleetPride departments. This position will be a member of the IT Data and Integration team and report to the Director IT Data and Integration. This is a high visibility role that will be interfacing with business leaders on a regular basis, defining team roadmap and gathering requirements to deliver innovative solutions. To succeed in this role, you will have strong technical acumen and extensive experience in developing reporting, BI and data warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly analytical, comfortable diving deep and making data driven decisions with a strong customer focus. He or she must drive the completion of projects within the established scope, while also planning for and managing new requirements in a dynamic environment.

Essential Tasks

  • Engage closely with stakeholders and business leaders to gather requirements, prioritize projects and define team roadmaps

  • Lead efforts to architect, design, develop, and support high quality data, analytics, reporting and integration solutions using Microsoft's BI Platform: SQL Server database, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) SharePoint, and BI/data visualization tools.

  • Learn and understand a broad range of FleetPride's data resources and know how, when, and which to use

  • Provides guidance regarding the use of data warehouse systems, capability of systems to deliver information, and subject matter expertise regarding current systems and emerging technology.

  • Lead team of Data Integration Engineers both onshore and offshore resources.

  • Create standards and conventions for data warehouse, analytics, and ETL systems. Lead governance and enforcement of standards

  • Communicate team and project status to Director IT Data and Integration and FleetPride's IT Leadership.

  • Champion the adoption of self-service analytic tools and reporting environments

  • Define and manage SLA's for all data sets and processes running in production

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage and develop a team which would include Business Intelligence Lead(s), Developer(s) and Architect(s).

  • Lead the strategy for Accurate and Consistent data sources, taking into account cross-functional requirements

  • Self-train and self-educate to better support the technology FLEETPRIDE uses to support operations locally and at the branches. Assist or train others on the systems and features.

  • Makes pragmatic recommendations on system and process enhancements.

  • Be a thought leader and driving force behind data initiatives

  • Ensures configurations, system features and system documentations are appropriately documented.

  • Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of the organization and technology standards.

  • Responsible for communicating, promoting and adhering to IT standards.

  • Will be required to carry a cell phone at all times and expected to respond to urgent calls in a timely manner. This may require remote or occasional on-site support.

  • The ability to work through stressful situations with either a co-worker or a customer

  • May require overtime, weekend work and overnight travel.

  • Much of the work shift is spent viewing a computer monitor and using a keyboard while entering problem description details into a case management system.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions

The primary environment is characterized by ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment found in a typical office environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, or Management Information Systems. Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.

Professional Experience/Competencies

  • 10+ year in designing, developing and supporting Data and reporting solutions.

  • 5+ years of experience in managing data warehouse, reporting and integration teams

  • Solid understanding of any RDBMS, Data warehousing concepts and data modeling concepts

  • SQL language proficiency with at least one of the common database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and/or DB2 database management systems.

  • Demonstrated experience using relational databases, writing complex queries in ANSI- SQL based products such as T-SQL and PL/SQL, and utilizing a firm understanding of the underlying data.

  • Strong knowledge in building data pipelines, near real-time integration patterns and technologies

  • Working experience with Microsoft Fabric, including data ingestion, transformation, and analytics.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

  • Studying data sources by interviewing users; defining, analyzing, and validating data objects; identifying the relationship among data objects

  • Adapt to new tools and technologies.

  • Passionate to understand complex data sets and help the team to build insights that drives business decisions.

  • Proficient in using Agile methodologies with a strong mindset to break-down complex requirements into milestones, features and user stories.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Be able to work with non-technical audience to collect and define requirements.

  • Strong skills with data and reporting platforms such as SQL Data warehousing, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PowerBI and so on.

  • Industrial distribution domain experiences a big plus

  • Experience in Retail and Distribution industry is a plus

  • Experience working with cloud/on-prem and hybrid cloud solutions
