Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations, the Sr. Manager of Irvine Manufacturing will directly manage multiple functions including Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Production Planning, Procurement, Kitting, warehouse functions, and Facilities. This represents approximately 80 associates reporting into this role. This position is responsible for daily operations including achieving safety, quality, delivery (on-time delivery), cost targets and ongoing continuous improvement of the operation. As part of the operations leadership team you will develop organizational strategies and implement policies, processes, and procedures to improve performance, efficiency, and the overall organization. You will be responsible for driving the Fortive Business System into the operation as the basis for ongoing continuous improvement.

Create and monitor Policy Deployment by identifying Operations breakthroughs and ensuring action plans are resourced and achievable.
Acquire, align and prioritize resources and budgets to meet production needs, new product introduction requirements, and customer expectations.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives for both manufacturing and back-office functions, leveraging the Fortive Business System.
Plan and execute, through the management team, improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Provide guidance to the Materials and Production Managers to coordinate materials with production, while considering backlog, inventory, forecast, material and capacity, and support of the timely acquisition of materials. Assists in supply escalations as required.
Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) product transition from engineering into manufacturing and ensures operational readiness.
Oversee the capital acquisition and planning process.
Manages fixed and variable budgets providing end-of-month variance reporting and analysis, absorption accounting analysis and forecasting, and corrective actions as required.
Partners with HR for organization and talent development, talent risk management, and succession planning.

Heres what well need from you:
8-10 yrs. of progressive management experience required.
BS Degree in technical, engineering or management field required. MBA is preferred.
Must have at least 5 years of experience managing a medical device manufacturing operation
Cross functional management experience strongly desired, including engineering, manufacturing, and materials, including experience managing $10M operating budgets
Excellent communication skills along with demonstrated success with change management and crisis resolution
Data and Fact-Based problem solving skills,
Must have strong experience in continuous improvement activities. Formal training and practical experience with Lean Mfg/Kaisen/Six Sigma is strongly desired
Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Office products: Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
