Overview

The Sr. Manager, Institutional Strategy leverages research, business intelligence, customer and industry insights to develop strategic plans to support student acquisition and retention initiatives. The Sr. Manager, Institutional Strategy collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver multifaceted plans and solutions for the University. Provides data and insight to support creation of innovative solutions to business opportunities, such as growing enrollment, driving retention and loyalty, as well as improving the prospective and current student experience.

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer insights, business intelligence, market and cultural trends into actionable strategies and plans to create customer-centric marketing strategies that support acquisition, retention and loyalty initiatives

  • Partner with business owners, analytics and executive sponsors on business case development, financial viability and pressure test strategy and plans prior to implementation

  • Work closely with agency planners and marketing sciences team to articulate messaging frameworks, brand positioning and strategies to activate brand and institutional messages across media, advertising, social and internal channels

  • Help build annual, quarterly and campaign go-to-market plan working cross-functionally with creative, integrated marketing, acquisition, retention and loyalty channels to develop tactical plans

  • Collaborate with research, product and analytics teams providing input on information needs, research design and instruments, analysis and implications on research initiatives

  • Act as a voice of the customer and ensures that ideas, plans and strategy enhance the customer experience and delivers on their needs

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Social Science or related field

  • Five (5) years of experience in marketing planning, strategy, product marketing or ad agency planning

Additional Qualifications:

  • Two (2) year of Ad Agency Account Planning or Account Management Experience

  • Experience in leading, designing strategy and marketing planning within a marketing organization or in consulting services

  • Keen ability to dig into data and translate into actionable insights

  • Ability to be creative and think around problems

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of software

  • Prior media planning and buying experience

  • Adept at completing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to foster strong collaborative relationships working in a highly matrixed environment

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent communications, storytelling and influencing skills
