Sr. Manager, Global Payments and Risk
We are looking for an experienced manager of Risk and Global Payments to provide leadership and direction to Verizon Media's Subscriptions, Billing and Payments team, and be a hands-on contributor to the success of our billing and subscription platform.
Based either in Dulles, VA or Sunnyvale, CA, this role is critical to the successful operation of our Member Services team who are the stewards for billing optimization and strategic success of all Verizon Media brands. This role works hand-in-hand with Tax, Legal, Accounting, Product Managers, Chargeback/Fraud teams, and Engineering. There's also a dash of interaction with design in there as well as we develop best-in-class reporting platforms to both aid your role, and what our customers and partners experience.
Responsible for global payments and fraud strategy for e-commerce/subscription businesses with the focus of increasing revenue, reducing costs, minimizing churn and mitigating fraud.
Manage global payments portfolio including credit/debit card, ACH, PayPal, ApplePay, Google Pay, and alternative payments. Assess new payment opportunities including alternative payments (market share, cost, potential lift) for Verizon Media business strategies.
Manage chargeback strategy achieving low chargeback rate.
Manage vendor relationships including payment processors, card brands, PCI auditors, fraud, and reporting vendors.
Ensure rules and regulations compliance with card brands and NACHA.
Interact with relevant Group-wide governing bodies, industry associations, and external regulators.
Understand, and more importantly, influence changing industry standards.
Participate and lead thinking on developments relating to Global Payments, Billing, Analytics and the future state of the function and team.
Credibility and gravitas to challenge and coach upwards, horizontally, as well as own leadership of team members; facilitate the effectual working of leadership teams.
Experience in financial services and information technology, with a wide-ranging understanding of payment products globally.
Proven depth of expertise in strategy execution, with experience of leading change across a multi-group control function.
Strong working knowledge of the regulations and standards of relevant industry bodies and organizations.
Experience of continuous process and control improvement for both efficiency and exposure reasons.
Credible experience of advanced data analytics and the ability to use this to influence at the highest level.
Collaborative and able to share best practice at all levels.
Highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in business or related field.
