As a Partner Sales Leader within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the exciting opportunity to deliver on our strategy to build mind share and adoption of Amazon's infrastructure web services (Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, Amazon SimpleDB, and Amazon SQS) across AWS's most strategic business partners and their customers.

The AWS Consulting Partner Ecosystem is growing, and these Systems Integrators, Advisors, Professional and Managed Services Partners, and ISV's have experienced resources capable of delivering business outcomes for customers. Partners provide AWS with scale and can help accelerate customer adoption and deliver value more rapidly. By teaming on opportunities, there is a greater ability to drive better outcomes for our customer.

The Partner Sales Leader will lead a team of Partner Success Managers (PSMs). The Partner Success Manager owns the consulting and ISV partner go-to-market for a given geography and ensures that: 1) customers and sales teams understand the value of partners and how to engage; 2) a strategic plan is created for each geography; 3) partners have brand awareness and drive new customer demand; 4) qualified partners are recommended for opportunities and deliver quality results; and 5) partners know what is required for success in the district (PSM provides coaching in collaboration with PDM).

You will possess a technology sales and, or partner sales management background where you have demonstrated success in leading a customer-obsessed sales team that achieves its goals via a matrixed sales team environment.

Further, you will have a demonstrated aptitude for hiring, training and developing the best to create a highly-effective and scalable team.

You will be highly-motivated with demonstrated capabilities in defining and driving operational excellence within your assigned team, well-defined plans that include features that enable quick identification of issues or success and the ability to spot trends that help our customers, partners and AWS succeed in their mutual goals.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Field Leadership: Operate as the single threaded owner of all activities, escalations and partner led impact for their specific sub-region or customer segment.

Performance Management: Maintain a high bar and ensure that expected contributions are made by every team member through ongoing coaching, feedback and development planning.

Operational Excellence: Able to meet or exceed all operational aspects of role to ensure team success including required training, HR-related tasks such as feedback and ratings, usage of tools and reports that drive focused and effective actions and results and ensuring that all requirements for appropriate goal attainment are well understood and executed. Further, the exemplary leader will have the Leadership Principle of "Invent and Simplify" as part of their operational tool kit and be able to identify opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.

Market Assessment for assigned geo or customer segment: Assess the most effective use of partner's resources and drive operating models with sales and functional teams.

Sales Contribution: Provide scale and increased sales capacity by leveraging the partner community to drive increased usage of AWS services through the development and execution of both sell-through and sell-with models.

Project Delivery and Customer Success: Ensure that ongoing partner engagements are delivered to exceed customer expectations.

  • Experience leading a team in a high scale partner business

  • Partner sales, business development and partner management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence C-level executives

  • Exposure working with Systems Integrators, Consulting Companies, and ISV's to drive sales

  • Posses presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences.

  • Experience working with Large Global, Large Enterprise and Mid-market partners and customers

  • Prior direct sales experience

  • Experience working within the GSI industry

This role will support the overall success of the Strategic Technology Partner program in AWS Channels & Alliances, driving joint GTM (Go To Market) and Sell-With success for a portfolio of Amazon's strategic ISV partners. This position is a fast-paced, rich opportunity for someone to take their experience to the next level. As the ISV Success Manager you will hold a holistic view of the business generated by your partners and will work across both the AWS ISV team and AWS Commercial Sales organization to enhance and grow partner-related AWS revenue. You will become a trusted point of contact for a portfolio of ISVs through demonstrations of a deep understanding for their business issues and concerns, displaying competence in various business management disciplines and helping your partners build a successful and sustainable business delivering end customer solutions that incorporate the AWS cloud platform and services. You will drive towards end-customer value that results in business growth to both ISVs and AWS by being partner-centric in all activities, serving as a leader and advocate for them within AWS, and accurately representing AWS within the partner's organization.
