This role supports the financial planning, analysis and reporting tasks within the Specialty Pharmacy segment within McKesson Life Sciences. Through managing / coordinating a team, this role will focus on identifying, quantifying, projecting, and communicating key business drivers to McKesson leadership to ensure actionable steps are taken to drive financial performance. This position will be based either from the Irving, TX or the Louisville, KY location.

Position Description

  • Manage / coordinate a team of direct reports (across geographies) to provide mentorship, guidance and career development opportunities. Set objectives for team and delegate responsibilities.

  • Lead monthly/quarterly/year end close process, by partnering within McKesson Life Sciences segment owners and corporate accounting, while maintaining adherence with corporate finance/accounting guidelines to ensure timely and accurate closes to eliminate out of period adjustments.

  • Lead monthly forecasting process by partnering with Finance Director and business leaders with in-depth analytics and value-added recommendations to provide transparency and reduce forecasting variances.

  • Manage and lead annual budget and long-range plan process by partnering with Finance Director and business owners to create transparent, tactical plans to meet and exceed targets.

  • Manage and report meaningful metrics/business drivers for the business to highlight issues to leadership for timely operational adjustments to impact financial and business performance. Continual enhancement of monthly analytics and reporting packages to business owners and corporate team to provide additional transparency into financial operations and improve operating results.

  • Drive cross functional business partnerships for self and team to collaborate with business leads; ensure constant communications between the parties and provide value-add analysis to the business leaders.

  • Work collaboratively with groups across various geographies, specifically the three pharmacy locations (Cary, NC, Irving, TX and Louisville, KY).

  • Collaborate with team members to provided additional analytics (customer and product level margin) around profitability reporting to enhance margin optimization.

  • Communicate analytical results verbally, in writing and in presentation form to all levels of management.

  • Prepare and present various executive presentations in support of segment leadership and other presentations as necessary.

  • Complete ad-hoc and special projects as requested

Minimum Requirements
10+ years finance or accounting experience including 6+ years managerial experience

Critical Skills

  • Possess ability and willingness to evaluate complex business problems, determine a solution and make effective and persuasive presentations to management

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills this position interfaces with business leaders on a regular basis

  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking and managerial skills

  • Project Management experience is required with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize appropriately to meet competing deadlines.

  • Advanced Excel, Proficient PowerPoint.

  • Strong time management and organization skills with flexibility to work in a fast-paced and changing work environment

  • Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills

Additional Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of financial statements

  • Advanced knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems

  • Large ERP system experience desired


MBA preferred in finance or related field of equivalent experience
