This role is responsible for implementing an enterprise wide strategy for identifying and responding to potential events or circumstances that can have a risk to the organization's financial performance, strategic trajectory, operational efficiency, reputation, and/or any other relevant component to the organization's operations.
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.
The individual who assumes this role will be responsible for formalizing the infrastructure that is necessary to implement the enterprise risk program. This will include meeting will key members of the Executive Management Team, physician leadership, and senior administrative and clinical leadership to gather financial, strategic, operational and other relevant data that identifies any risks that exist across the enterprise. Once this information is gathered, this individual will aggregate the data, weigh it based on relevant risk categories, and then formulate a summary that highlights the highest and lowest of risks.
The individual must be able to identify and discern between data/events that are considered high risk and require immediate attention. The individual will then work closely with the CLO in determining who the relevant operational owners of the identified risks include. The individual will then partner with those operational owners to create management action plans that summarize the relevant risks along with corresponding plans and timelines to mitigate such risks.
The individual will be responsible for tracking and following-up with each operational owner on the management action plans and providing periodic updates to the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors on a routine basis.
This individual must be a critical thinker with a keen ability to interview individuals and decipher different types of operational, strategic, financial and other highly important data and categorize the data accordingly.
This individual must be able to create constructive and trustworthy relationships with the organization's leaders with an eye toward treating these individuals as partners in managing the organization's risks.
This individual must have a strong ability to solve problems, as well as apply knowledge of business and financial acumen.
This individual must be highly organized and analytical with the ability to identify which types of information and events require immediate attention, as well as able to routinely and respectfully follow-up with leaders to get updates on progress.
This individual must be sophisticated and professional in their presentation and have a high level of confidence when interacting with key members of the organization's senior leadership.
Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field: health services administration, internal audit, finance, government relations, etc.
Minimum experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in hospital system or similar health care environment.
Preferred education & experience: Master's Degree in related field: Health Services Administration, Business Administration, etc.
KSAs required upon hire or transfer (copy from KSA section below).
Preferred: Certified Enterprise Risk Professional.
