Summary:

Directs and coordinates complex activities of engineering functions to design, manufacture and test components, products and systems while solving complex problems requiring analytical, interpretive and/or constructive solutions. Leads technical efforts in large, complex engineering projects by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, develops, and evaluates systems as well as improving and maintaining current systems or creating brand new projects

  • Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment

  • Recommends operational plans with direct impact on results

  • Requires communication with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance, i.e., Constructing and presenting status briefings on technical challenges

  • Works with third party resources, site leadership and other necessary departments to bring comprehensive solutions for operations, production, or maintenance issues related to local production or test failures

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in general Engineering or specialized Engineering

  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years experience in a relevant function

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology or Chemical Engineering

  • Experience within the defense industry highly desired

  • Experience in energetic materials field

  • Experience with facility planning to include design, coordination, and implementation of a new manufacturing and/or assembly line

  • Strong engineering skills and understanding of the design and composition of most existing products and engineering/business processes and principles

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and procedures of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments

  • Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface

  • Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Internet software; Project Management software and Manufacturing software

  • Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment

  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality

  • Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly

  • Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines

  • Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety

  • Operates under minimal direction and exercises moderate to independent judgment

  • Decisions are guided by policy, procedures and business plan

  • Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment

  • Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines

Other Requirements:

  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25-50% of time, including possible international travel
