As the Sr. Manager, Custom Development Solution Center, you will be directly responsible for defining and building the next generation of software for Bell's employees and customers. You will be leading a team of developers to create exciting and innovative products. You will be tasked with growing Bell's custom development capabilities. You should be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating leadership and technical competence. You should also be comfortable collaborating regularly with Bell's business leaders to understand how you can advance Bell's business by delivering custom software solutions.
This role is located in Bell's corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, TX.
Grow the software development capability
Build and execute a strategy to increase DevOps capabilities
Develop a strong talent pipeline
Engage with Bell's business user to communicate capability and build a backlog of opportunities
Collaborates with the Business Partners, Business Analysts, and the business functions (customers) to develop new apps
Mentor and coach developers with various experience levels, to help them become effective software engineers
Identify requirements to acquire or contract services to maintain appropriate resource levels to execute and manage service performance.
Executes the analysis, design, configuration, development and integration of custom development projects
Collaborates with the security organization to incorporate adequate security controls into overall design and configuration
Effectively manage direct reports
Close working relationships with other IT managers (Peers)
Interacts with Bell business leaders to provide solutions that solve business problems
Close working relationship with Service Providers and Bell customers as appropriate
Skills and Experience Requirements:
At least 15 years IT experience in companies with a complex technical environment which includes a combination of custom, off-the-shelf, and hybrid applications using a variety of platforms and technologies
Demonstrated ability to lead a project to on-time completion
Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership
Excellent skills in communications, negotiation, leadership, analysis, and setting priorities
Ability to create technology roadmaps outlining strategy one to three years in advance
Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business and technical environment is
Experience with object-oriented databases
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Strong knowledge in Agile methodologies
Oracle and SQL Server Databases
