SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a seasoned and motivated Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, to join our growing team. In this crucial role, you will play a leadership role in overseeing and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our corporate accounting functions. You will be responsible for a team of accounting professionals, spearheading the monthly close process, and partnering with various departments across the organization to ensure strong financial reporting practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.

  • Oversee the entire monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all accounting tasks.

  • Prepare and review complex accounting entries and adjustments for corporate accounting functions.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ensure adherence to all accounting policies and procedures.

  • Manage and reconcile various corporate accounts, including investments, debt, and derivatives.

  • Partner with other departments (e.g., Tax, Treasury, Operations) to ensure data accuracy and efficient financial reporting.

  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support senior management decision-making.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.

  • Manage internal controls and mitigate financial risks associated with corporate accounting processes.

  • Stay up to date on the latest accounting standards and industry best practices.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA certification is preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in corporate accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team of accounting professionals.

  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and accounting and controls principles.

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills

  • Ability to convey information effectively to all levels of management and external auditors.

  • Experience with closing processes, financial reporting, and internal controls.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP-HANA, Quick Books).

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment and be able to meet strict monthly deadlines

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc. This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.

  • Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.

  • While performing the duties of this role, the incumbent may be required to talk or hear.

  • The incumbent is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities.

  • Able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
