PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Senior Manager- Content Marketing, leads the strategy and execution of the strategic education content plan in order to effectively grow and retain clients. In this capacity, the Manager oversees the production, distribution, and marketing of thought leadership to deepen client engagement through financial education. The manager creates and manages the execution of the go-to-market plan, the outputs of which will drive business results.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy: Responsible for developing and executing effective marketing strategies to achieve business results

Oversees the development and implementation of marketing strategies for the education content plan. Conceives new programs designed to educate self-directed individual investors. This includes defining the vision, developing the business case, aligning resources, and developing communications plans for the educational content program. The incumbent in this role will be responsible for highly complex, multi-faceted flagship content marketing programs.

Creates differentiated value propositions, including creating and managing the distribution offer

Drives brand positioning to highlight key elements and offers that differentiate and demonstrate T. Rowe Price's consumer value proposition against competitors in the market. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages the team developing the go-to-market distribution programs.

  • Oversees production of T. Rowe Price Investor Magazine each quarter

  • Oversees Insights digital communications program.

  • Identifies and prioritizes new thought leadership topics and oversees content development process.

  • Builds relationships with multiple subject matter experts.

  • Oversees development of videos, interactives, and other engaging rich media content to drive deeper engagement with investors.

  • Manages relationships with external vendors and partners.

  • Oversees planned and unplanned market event campaigns.

Responsible for increasing program effectiveness

Makes informed strategic trade-off decisions to ensure the optimal allocation of limited resources for maximized marketing impact. Stays ahead of the competition by piloting and implementing new efforts in emerging platforms. Identifies opportunities to increase effectiveness and drives necessary changes and improvements.

Talent Management

Leads and develops the marketing team in order to grow and retain all clients in support of segment and marketing objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • College degree and 6 years of related work experience, or

  • Associate degree and 8 years related work experience, or

  • High School diploma/equivalent and 10 years related work experience

  • Proven experience in a marketing and/or strategic planning role

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively

  • Strong drive for business results

  • Strong communications background, including editing and/or writing

  • Deep understanding of personal finance topics

  • Ability to lead, delegate, coach, and manage the work of direct reports

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus

  • Marketing development experience

  • Strong creative and analytical skills

  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of functional areas: Sales, Creative, Technical

  • Proven ability to research, identify, interpret, and prioritize market needs

  • Experience in the investment management/financial services industry

  • Extensive Marketing related project management experience

  • Excellent oral and written skills

  • Knowledge of investment products

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • High energy

  • Positive, practical, and proactive

  • A passion for innovation

  • Independent worker who is results driven

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to juggle multiple projects and priorities

  • 8-10 years relevant marketing experience

Preferred

  • 10 years related work experience

  • Previous experience in the investment management industry

  • MBA, CFA, or other specialized accreditation (CFP, CIMA, CPA)

  • Established industry network

The Manager partners with various stakeholders to develop an integrated sales and marketing distribution strategy designed to create a unique value proposition nationally as well as regionally, effectively differentiating T. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Strategy: Responsible for developing and executing effective marketing strategies to achieve business results - Responsible for overseeing the development of marketing strategies for Advice solutions. These strategies will have specific, measurable goals aligned with the business objectives. The strategies will be developed in alignment with various business partners. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Works with the Individual Investors - Advice Solutions team to establish the new product strategy and positioning. * Sets the short- and long-term marketing strategy for the suite of Advice products, including ActivePlus Portfolios and Advisory Planning Services, by leveraging market research, Advice team partnerships, industry trends, key competitor knowledge, and internal/external partnerships. * Develops and maintains ownership of a multi-year marketing strategy. * Leads external research to ensure broad working team is abreast of industry trends. * Enhances the packaging of tools on the website to improve their usage and results. * Creates an environment of inclusivity and strong teamwork across the Individual Investors organization to effectively deliver against business goals. * Owns, manages, and delivers the Advice section of the personal investors website.
